The following; councilmen and officials were present: Harry Gold, Doyle Lyda, Hubert Brock, A. F. Davis, Hubert If. Brock, City Manager Charles D. Eyeing;ton, Assistant City Manager Claud Fads, Chief of Police Frank Masur, Jr. and City Attorney Joe B. McMaster. Also present were: Drew Ballard with K.G.T.N., Don Scarbrough with Williamson County Sun Pub- lishing Company and lir. Fry and Mr. Davis from Liberty Hill. THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON APPLICATION AND PETITION FOR AM12ND1NffNT TO THE ZONING REGULATIONS AND MAP TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS Comes now Tom Sexton, owner of the tract of land described on Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof for all purposes, here- inafter called Petitioner, and files and makes this his request to the City Council and the City Planning and Zoning Commission that the 'Zoning on said property be changed from its present zoning status of "Residential" Minutes of council meeting held May 6 and called session held May 20th were approved as presented. Motion by Gold and seconded by Brock that general fund bills in the amount of $3,239.22 and utility fund bills in the amount of $18,816.94 be approved and ordered paid. Stray Dogs Stray dog condition was discussed at length. Council instructed the manager to build a suitable pound at the sewer disposal plant and employ a dog catcher to pick up stray dogs. Water Treat- Water treating report was discussed and also the condition of ment our water treating at the present time. No action was taken. Civil Defense Report from Dept. of Public Safety, Division of Defense & Disaster Relief was presented stating that we were eligible to participate during the year 1969. Zoning Joe McMaster stated that the zoning board had asked him to recommend Change to the council that the council approve tentatively Sexton's application (sexton) for the following zoning change: . . . Sloan, Mayor City of Georgetown City Hall Georgetown, Texas 65 66 Sir: As you know, we have known from the beginning that it would be necessary for me to resign from the Urban renewal Board when we reached the point of ordering title work and acquiring property. It appears that we are now at this stage. Accordingly, this letter will serve as my resignation as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Urban renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown. It has been a great pleasure and an honor to serve the City in this manner and particularly to work with my fellow commissioners in organizing the program. Our citizens will, I am sure, be proud of the South San Gabriel project as it unfolds. I will be happy to serve the city in another capacity if and when needed. cc: Mr. Jimmie 0. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Urban renewal Mayor Sloan appointed Edwin Schneider to serve as Urban Renewal Appointment commissioner for a term of two years beginning May 29, 1968. C.O.G. Mayor suggested that someone attend meeting in Austin of the Countil of Governments. Swimming Mayor suggested that Brock and Lyda investigate the possibility in Park of public swimming in the San Gabriel Park. Plant Jack Handly stated that the radio operators at the water and Dispatcher light plant were not answering telephone or radio as they should and cited a number of occasions when no answer could be received on either telephone or radio Mayor stated that there should be coordination between plant employees and police chief. Parking Parking situation was discussed at length. Mayor suggested that around a two hour parking limit be enforced around the square,; effective square time to be from;8:30 AM to 12:00 noon and from 1:30 to 5:00 Phi. No action was taken. Urban Renewal CERTIFICATE Or APPOINTMENT:, Appointment THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT Edwin Schneider, resident citizen and real property owner of Georgetown, Texas, has been appointed to the office of COMMISSIONER OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN by the Mayor of the City of Georgetown, by and with the consent and advise of the City Council of said City, for a term of (2) years, commencing on May 29, 1968, as provided by the Urban Renewal Law of 1pxas.
