November 14, 1967
The City Council met in called session on the above date, Mayor
Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were
present: Harry Gold, Hubert Brock, William It. Eanes, City Manager Charles
D. Eyeington, Assistant City Manager Claud Eads. Also present was
Don Scarbrough with the Williamson County Sun Publishing Company.
Canvass Mayor Sloan appointed Harry Gold and William It. Eanes to canvass
Sales Tax the election returns of City 1% Sales Tax election held November the
Election 14, 1967.
Returns
We you committee William It. Eanes and harry Gold find that
there were 268 votes cast and 167 votes were cast for the 1% City
Sales Tax and 101 votes were cast against the 1% sales tax.
RESOLUTION AND ORDER CANVASSING ItKURNS AND DECLARING
RESULTS OF SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN TRE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS ON NOVEMBER 14, 1967, ON THE QUESTION
OF ADOPTION OF A ONE PERCENT (1%) LOCAL SALES AND USE
TAX WITHIN SAID CITY.
Motion by Eanes and Seconded by Brock that above resolution be
passed. Motion passed by unanimous vote.
There being no further business, on motion by Eanes and seconded
by Brock, meeting adjourned._
