The following councilmen and officials were present: Edward Lee Evans, William R. Panes, A.. T. Hoyt, Jr., Doyle Lyda, IIubert Ii. Brock, City Manager Charlep D* Eyeington, City Secretary Claud Eads, Chief of Police Frank J. Alasur, City Attorney Joe B. McMaster, Jr. Others present were: T. K. McClain, Gary Gibbs,.,with K.G.T.N. Radio, Dr. 0. A. Ullrich, Mrs. Pettus, firs. Akin and others representing friends of the Library. Motion by Iloyt and seconded by Eaves that minutes of Council meeting held June 20 be approved as presented. Nlo- tion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Evans and seconded by Brock that General Fund bills in amount of :1,569.08 and Utility bills in amount of $16,674.61 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Managers report was approved as presented. Carl Joe McMaster and Manager Eyeington had nothing to report Doering at this time on Carl Doering lift station easement. Airport Councilman Evans suggested that Airport contract be dis- Contract cussed at called meeting to be held July 190 1966. Library Library budget was presented by Airs. Aiken. I.O.O.F. :Mr. T. Kt.,McClain discussed I.O.O.F. Lodge property with the Council. No action was taken at this time. AMENDING ORDINANCE ORDAINED JULY 8, 1963 Ordinance ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF T11E CITY OF GI:011GETOWN, TEXAS FOR LOCAL EXUANGE TELEPHONE SERVICE. Motion by Evans and seconded by Eanes that Ordinance be read by Caption. Caption was react. ;Motion by Brock and seconded by Lyda that Ordinance be passed to its third and final reading. Votes as follows: Ayes: Evans, Eanes, Hoyt, Lyda and Brock. Noes: None. Mayor declared ordinance finally passed. See Ordinance Book II, Page 11. Tax Mayor appointed Tom Moore, Dee Scott and Leroy Berkman Equalization to serve on Tax equalization board for 1966-67. Board Traffic Motion by Eanes and seconded by Evans that Yield R01% sign Signs be placed for East and West bound traffic on 13th Street at Pine and Stop sign for North and South bound traffic on fine at University Avenue. Motion carried by unanimous vote. No funds drive was conducted on businesses. Friends of the Library organization supports the library at the present. The library needs city support, not only for the free gift of state library books, but in anticipation of state and federal aid. Every city needs the public service of a library. In June, the number of new borrowers totaled 138. Books checked out totaled 978. Total books checked out, 2282.
