The City Council met in regular session on the above date.
Mayor J.T.Atkin presiding, the following aldermen were pre-
sent, J.H.Compton, Elmer Fredericson, Kennie Wilcox Jr. A.C.
Woodfin. City Manager Lee.C. Black. Asst. Ygr. H.A.Parta.in
City Attornery W.H.Nunn, Chief Of Police A.P.P fickle.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved of motion
of Aid. J.H.Compton and Seconded by Aid. Wilcox Jr.
City Manager Lee C. Black submitted his regular monthly
report, also the monthly reports of the City officials a;d
statements of all bills for approval and payment in the
amount of $401.25, on motion of Aid. A.C.;Voodfin and secon-
ded by Aid. Elmer Fredericson , the reports were received
and filed and all bills ordered paid.
A RESOLUTION:Of the City Council of the City Of Georgetown,
Texas, authorizing and directing the extension of time of
payment of the remainder now due on the 4 35,000.00, loan
authorized by our resolution , dated Hune 15, 1954.See PageL107)
oordinance book. Motion made by Ald. Elmer Fredericson and
seconded by Aid. J.H.Compton, resolution was accepted unanim-
ously by vote of the council, Ayes Compton, Fredericson,
Woodfin and Wilcox. Noes , none New note in the amount of
$ 11, 900.67 At TlM FIRST NATIONAL BANK and $110900.67 at
TEE FAR: RS STATE BA!a, total amount at both banks x$23,801.34.
on motion of Aid. J.H.Compton, seconded by Aid A.C.:'loodfin
the City Council voted unanimously to open a 30' street now
know as Virginia St. provided that Mr. Felix Melburn will

icate ..to the City Of Geor -etown when the Perrin addition
was recorded. Mr Melburn asked that the street be opened and
no other adjacent property owners objected, this street is
South of Felix Melburns property and Notth of the Georgetown
Grammar School, running east and west,
On a motion by Aid. A.C.?'Joodfin and seconded by Aid. J.H.Comp-
ton the City Council authorized Mr.Lee Black to obtain the
service of Mr. Bov-vell a Certified Public Accountant to set
up a modern and up to date set of books for the City Office
The zoning ordinance was discussed both pro & con at the
meeting, the Mayor advised all councilment to read this
ordinance again and study it crrefully. The Councila also
discussed the idea of widening of College St. along the
High School Property with the idea of fixing the street
where the cars could be parked off the street, thereby elimi-
nati g the conjestyon that now exists,
