The City Council met in called session for the purpose of opening bids on laying and purchasing materials for Northtovm water extension. Mayor J. 1. Atkin presiding the following Alderman,and officials' present. Alderman, Smith, Wood.fin, Wilcox and' Fredericson. City Manager Lee Black. Bid opened for laying water line in Northtown to furnish labor and equipment. Carl Waggner - $ 10,706.00 Rodger Smith - 9,76K.00 Joe Bland - 11,085.00 Motion made by F. C. Smith seconded by A. C. Woodfin to accept low bid of Rodger Smith 9,765.00. Motion passed by tmanimous vote. Bids on 6" pipe opened. Lone Star Steel - 1.54 per foot, Mech.Joint F. O. Be Factory. James Clout/ & Son - 1.75 per'foot,.Meeh.Joint r. 0. B. Georgetown. Alamo Iron i'yorks - 1.79 per foot, Mech.Joint F. 0. B. Georgetown. Rodger Smith agrees to haul Lone Star Steel pipe from Dangerfield ( Factory ) for 13 cents per foot and place same on ditch sight. This makes pipe cost in place $ 1.67. Notion by A. C. Woodfin seconded by E. K. Frederieson to accept low bid of Lone Star Steel and hauled by Sinith. Motion carried by unanimous vote. There occuring no further business the Council adjourned.
