HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 84-05.021 - Abandoning EasementORDINANCE NO. 84 -Qom, 1 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING PART OF AN EASEMENT LYING BETWEEN LOTS 1 AND 2, IN TOYAH POINT, A SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: WHEREAS, a petition has been received from EDWIN G. SCHNEIDER and GUS A. STEENKEN, the owners of Lots 1 and 2 in Toyah Point, City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas; WHEREAS, the petition states that the City Council of the City of Georgetown, by its ordinance, has previously abandoned a portion of a public utility easement running along and 10 feet either side of the common boundary between Lots 1 and 2; WHEREAS, petitioners desire to construct a structure that would extend across the remaining portions of such public utility easements and it is desirable that the remaining portions of the easement be abandoned and vacated and the petition further states that the portions of the public utility easement not previously abandoned are not being used for any public utilities and that more convenient and serviceable easements do exist; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that the remaining portions of the public utility easements running along and 10 feet either side of the common boundary between Lots 1 and 2 of Toyah Point, City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, are hereby vacated, closed and abandoned,. except that the City of Georgetown reserves for itself or for any public utility company the right to maintain, repair and replace any water, sewer, or other utility lines presently located in, upon or over said easement.
