HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 06.03.1985 CC-S2'70 June 3, 1985 The City Council met in Special Session on the above date at 7:00 P.M. with Mayor Carl Doering presiding. The following Council Members and officials were present: Eb C. Girvin, Bill Connor, William C. Shell, Joan King, Jim Colbert, City Secretary Pat Caballero, City Manager Leo Wood, Finance and Administration Director Frank Reed, Public Works Driector Allyn Moore, Community Development and Planning Director Ed Barry, Planning Director Renee Hanson, and Tax/Finance Director Barbara Raney. Executive Session - Mayor Doering announced that the Council would meet in Personnel executive session under Art. 6252-17, Sec. 2 (g). After the executive session the meeting was again open to the public. Mayor Doering read a letter from Police Chief Travis Thomas informing City Manager Leo Wood of his intentions to resign effective June 6, 1985. City Manager Leo Wood indicated his acceptance of this resignation. Mayor Doering read a letter from City Manager Leo Wood informing the Mayor and Council of his intentions to resign effective July 16, 1985. Motion by Girvin and seconded by Shell to accept Leo Wood's resignation and approve the payment of four months pay, car allowances and expense account. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Note by Colbert: This is a difficult action to accept. I think the financial gains for the City of Georgetown that Leo has made speak for themselves. I think that this is a small reward for those efforts. At this time the council appointed Director of Finance and Administration Frank A. Reed as temporary Assistant City Manager and Interim City Manager upon the departure of City Manager Leo Wood. Motion by Connor and seconded by King to authorize Reed to advertise for a new City Manager. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Misc. No action taken.
