HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 08.01.1984 CC-S185 August 1, 1984 The City Council met in Special Session on the above date with Mayor Carl Doering presiding. The following Council Members and Officials were present: Eb C. Girvin, William C. Shell, Joan King, Jim Colbert, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary Pat Caballero, Public Works Director W. L. Walden, Planning Director Renee Hanson, Tax/Finance Director Barbara Raney and Building Official Frank Wineinger. Council Member Bill Connor was absent. U.S.G.S. The Council considered entering into an agreement with the Agreement U.S.G.S. to monitor the aquifer. Motion by King and seconded by Colbert to authorize Mayor Doering to enter into a contract with the U.S.G.S. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Land Purchase The Council considered the purchase of Lot 16, Block T, in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal from Wallace Luerson for a new police complex with the cost being $15,000.00. Motion by Girvin and seconded by Shell to purchase the land. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Executive Session Mayor Doering announced tht the council would meet in executive Personnel and session under V.T.C.S., Article 6252-17 section 2(f) and 2(g) Q Land to discuss matters relative to the personnel and land. After Q the executive session the meeting was again open to the public. Budget Workshop Motion by Girvin and seconded by King to proceed with the budget as proposed for the Fiscal Year 1984-85. Motion carried by unanimous vote. The Council then discussed the current mileage allowance allowed by the City for use of private vehicles on City business. It was suggested by Council Member Shell that this should be increased to 20 cents per mile. It was indicated by the Council that this change in policy be made. Misc. At this time the Council undertook a lengthy discussion regarding participation in a regional water agreement. Adjourn Motion by King and seconded by Shell to adjourn.
