HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.25.1984 CC-S183 July 25, 1984 The City Council met in Special Session on the above date with Mayor Carl Doering presiding. The following Council Members and Officials were present: Eb C. Girvin, Bill Connor, William C. Shell, Joan King, Jim Colbert, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary Pat Caballero, Planning Director Renee Hanson, Tax/Finance Director Barbara Raney and Fire Marshal Les Bunte. Request - Blocking The Council considered a request from Main Street Director off Main St. for Susie Clinard for permission to block off Main Street between Trade Days Auction- 7th and 8th Street during the hours of 6:00 P.M, to 8:00 P.M. Susie Clinard on Saturday, August 18, 1984. Motion by Connor and seconded by Girvin to approve the request. Motion carried by unaimous vote. Ordinance - Drought Motion by Connor and seconded by King to approve an emergency Water Management reading of an ordinance adopting a drought water management Plan - Emergency plan. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (Ord. Book 415, Reading Pages 351-354). (� Ordinance - Motion by Shell and seconded by Connor to approve the second Utility Rate Increase and final reading of an ordinance fixing the rates of electric Q 2nd reading and water for the City of Georgetown with the effective date Q of this ordinance being July 15, 1984. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (Ord. Book 415, Pages 355-357). Misc. The Council discussed possible annexation of San Gabriel Heights, River Ridge I & II, North Industrial Park and Seranada Subdivisions. The Council indicated that the Planning Department initiate a study into the annexation of these areas. The Council also discussed a U.S.G.S. proposed agreement that would aid the City in monitoring the aquifer. At this time the Council undertook a lengthy discussion regarding the Fiscal Year 1984-85 Budget. Executive Session Mayor Doering announced that the Council would meet in executive session under V.T.C.S., Article 6252-17 section 2(b) to discuss matters relative to the budget and employee compensation. After the executive session the meeting was again open to the public. Adjourn Motion by Girvin and seconded by Connor to adjourn. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
