HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 06.29.1984 CC-S175 June 29, 1984 The City Council met in special session on the above date with Mayor Carl Doering presiding. The following Council members and officials were present: William C. Shell, Joan King, Jim Colbert, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary Pat Caballeo, Public Works Director W. L. Walden, Planning Director Renee Hanson and Building Officials Frank Wineinger. Absent were Councilmen Girvin and Connor. First Southwest Financial Advisor Monty Nicholas informed the Council that in Co. - Letter on order for his company, First Southwest Company, to bid on Bond Bids the upcoming bonds that the Council would have to agree to allow this. Motion by Shell and seconded by Colbert to allow First Southwest to bid on the bonds. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Ordinance - Kirk Treible appeared before the City Council and detailed the Creating Geroge- creation of the Georgetown Higher Education Finance Corportation. �--� town Higher Ed- Motion by King and seconded by Shell to approve the first �..� ucation Finance reading of an ordinance ordering the creation of a non-profit Corp, 1st corporation under section 53.35(b), Texas Education Code, reading as amended; designating the incorporators thereof; approving articles of incoporation and appointing the initial directors Q thereto; approving the bylaws of the corporation; containing Q other provisions and making certain findings relating thereto. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Abandonment of Dale Shanklin appeared before the Council to request that the Street - City consider selling a section of street in the Williams Williams Add. Addition, Unit I. Motion by Colbert and seconded by Shell to Unit I locate an appraiser who was acceptable to City Manager Leo Wood and Shanklin with the cost of such appraiser to be borne by Shanklin. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Resolution - Motion by King and seconded by Colbert to approve a resolution Highway Dept. authorizing the Mayor to formally request a master plan to be done Master Plan by the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (Ord. Book #5, Page 289). Budget Financial Advisor Monty Nitcholas informed the Council that it Workshop is necessary for the Council to budget enough electrical revenue to account for the required times coverage in associa- tion with the upcoming bonds. Misc. At this time Mayor Doering talked about Fresse and Nicholas fees. He indicated that this matter would be taken up at the next regular Council meeting.
