March 27, 1984
The City Council met in Special Session on the above date
at 8:30 A.M. with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The
following Councilmen and Officials were present: Eb C.
Girvin, Carl Doering, Bill Connor, Marvin Lackey, William
C. Shell, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary Pat Caballero,
Public Works Director Wink Walden, Planning Director Renee
Hanson, Tax/Finance Director Barbara Raney, Building Official
Frank Wineinger, Airport Manager Andy Howard and Main Street
Director Susie Clainard.
Resolution - Approving Motion by Connor and seconded by Shell to approve a res -
Georgetown Industrial olution approving Georgetown Industrial Development Corp.
Development Corp. Industrial Development Revenue Bond (Old Lodge Building
Partnership Project) Series 1984 following a public hearing.
Motion carried by unanimous vote. (Ord Book #5, Page 230-238).
Airport Runway The Council heard a report from Max Ulrich, Chief Engineer
Paving of the Texas Aeronautics Commission on the recent repaving
of the runway at the Georgetown Airport. Ulrich indicated
that another layer of seal -coat is needed to complete the project,
The total cost of this project would amount to $56,000.00. The
TAC would pay for $42,000.00 of the project and the City would
be required to pay $14,000.00 toward the job. Motion by Doering
and seconded by Connor to approve th seal -coat. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Building Variance- The Council heard a request from Dale Shanklin for a variance
Val Verda to allow him to obtain a building permit for lots 6 and 8
in Block K, Serenada West III. The reason for the variance
is the road that serves these lots is not yet complete. Motion
by Connor and seconded by Shell to grant the variance under
the following conditions: 1) No certificate of occupany
will be issued until the road is completed and accepted by
the City; and, 2) that the issuance of this variance will
in no way establish a precedence or represent a change in
policy. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Adjourn Motion by Lackey and seconded by Connor to adjourn. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
