March 17, 1983
The City Council met in special session on the
above date at 7:OJ PM with Mayor John C. Doerfler
presiding. The following Councilmen and Officials
were present: Eb C. Girvin, Carl Doering, Marvin
Lackey, Bill Connor, William C. Shell, City Manager
Leo Wood, City Secretary Jim Colbert, City Attorney
Joe B. McMaster, Public Works Director W. L. Walden,
Tax/Finance Director Barbara Raney and City Planner
Renee Hanson.
Linda Scarbrough -
Motion by Connor and seconded by Girvin to allow the
Use of San Gabriel Park
use of San Gabriel Park on March 27, 1983, for Great
Kite DAy. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Work Session
Sam Wyse of Wyse and Associates presented preliminary
findings on the Land Use and Population Study for the
City.
Final Plat-
Motion by Connor and seconded by Doering to conditionally
Georgian Village
approve a resolution authorizing filing of a final plat
of Georgian Village and to grant variances on the length
and width of all lots. The resolution is approved subject
to: (1) a notice, approved by the City Attorney, to be
placed on the plat stating that there is a water pressure
problem and further that if pressure booster pumps are
installed they will be installed in conformance with
State Health Department regulations which require auto-
matic pressure cut-off devices be installed so that the
pumping units become inoperative at a suction pressure
of less than 20 P.S.I., and that San Gabriel Builders,
Inc. grant an agreement of indemity and release of lia-
bility to the City of Georgetown concerning the water
pressure problem in a manner which is acceptable to the
City Attorney. (2) the approval of septic tanks by the
Williamson County Health Dept., and (3) the approval of
the construction plans by the City Engineer and City
Planning Department, at which time the Mayor shall be
authorized to sign the plat. Voting went as follows.
Ayes: Girvin,Doering, Connor and Shell. Noes: Lackey.
Motion carried.
South Georgetown Motion by Girvin and seconded by Connor to give the
Water Improvements City Attorney authority to proceed with a contract between
the City and Georgetown Railroad for the City to obtain
well sites 10 and 11. Voting went as follows. Ayes:
Girvin and Connor. Abstain: Doering, Lackey and
Shell. Motion failed.
Award Contract - No action was taken on this matter.
Well No. 10
Executive Session The City Council did not convene in executive session.
Misc. Motion by Shell and seconded by Doering to authorize
a change order on the Wastewater Treatment Plant for
paving. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Adjourn There being no further business, on a motion by Connor
and seconded by Shell, the meeting adjourned.
