The City Council met in Special Session on the above date at 5:00 p.m.
with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following Councilmen and
Officials were present: Eb C. Girvin, Carl Doering, Lee Fulkes,
William C. Shell, City Manager Leo Wood, Assistant City Manager
W. L. Walden, City Secretary Jim Colbert and Airport Manager
Wayne Truxal.
Bobby Donaldson - Bobby Donaldson thanked the City Council for the support and cooperation
Georgetown Little provided by the City Staff to,to the Georgetown Little League.
League
Resolution - Award bid Motion by Shell and seconded by Fulkes to approve a resolution authorizing
on Hanger "A" at the the Mayor to execute a contract with Thunderbird Flyers, Inc. to lease
Airport Hanger "A" at the Airport. Motion carried by unanimous vote with Atkinson
and Girvin absent. (See Ord. Book 14, Page 223).
Resolution - Motion by Shell and seconded by Doering to approve a resolution authorizing
L C R A the City of Georgetown to participate in the Association of Wholesale
Customers' Special Project on generating needs and to pay its proportionate
share of the project costs. Motion carried by unanimous vote, with Atkinson
absent. ( See Ord. Book 14, Page 224).
John Pope- Mr. Pope requested permission to use San Gabriel Park for a carnival to
Shrine Club raise money for the Shrine Club. The City Council granted his request.
Ordinance - Motion by Shell and seconded by Fulkes to approve on first reading as an
Order to Issue emergency an ordinance authorizing the issuance of $550,000.00 in Revenue
$550,000.00 in Bonds. Motion carried by unanimous vote, with Atkinson absent. ( See
Revenue Bonds Ord. Book 14, Pages 225-237).
Ordinance - Motion by Fulkes and seconded by Girvin to approve on first reading as
Sewer Rate an emergency, an ordinance establishing a sewer use charge. Motion
carried by unanimous vote, with Atkinson absent. ( See Ord. Book 14,
Pages 238-239).
Adjourn There being no further business, on a motion by Shell and seconded by
Fulkes, the meeting adjourned.
