January 13, 1981
The City Council met in regular session on the above date at 7:00
PM with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following council-
men and officials were present: Lee Fulkes, Harry Gold, William
C. Shell, Carl Doering, Ken Olson, City Manager Leo Wood,
Assistant City Manager W. L. Walden, City Secretary Jim Colbert,
Building Official Tim Sams and Renee Hanson.
Monthly Minutes and Motion by Shell seconded by Olson to approve the minutes of
Reports council meetings held December 9, 1980, December 16, 1980
and December 22, 1980. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Approve Bills Motion by Fulkes seconded by Gold to approve General Fund bills
in the amount of $24,939.72 and Utility Fund bills in the amount
of $298.109.41. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Award bids- Motion by Shell seconded by Olson to accept the low bid of
Pickup, 1981 $7,130.00 by Drager Ford on a gasoline pickup. Voting went as
follows: Ayes: Shell, Olson„ Doering, and Gold. Noes;
Fulkes. Motion carried.
Award bid- Motion by Gold seconded by Doering to accept the low bid of
Garbage Truck $21,303.50 by Compton Chevrolet on a garbage truck. (,Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Award bid- Motion by Fulkes seconded by Olson to accept the low bid of
Police car $8,110.00 by Draeger Ford on a police car. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Ordinance - Motion by Fulkes seconded by Gold to approve on second reading
Lone Star Gas Rate an ordinance providing for a rate increase for Lone Star Gas Co.
2nd Reading Motion carried by unanimous vote. ( See Ord Book, 04, Pages
88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93 and 94).
Airport Board Mayor Doerfler, with the advice and consent of the council
appointed Jim Caskey and Dr. Jesse Johnson to serve the unexpired
terms of Ned Snead and Lewis Holder on the Airport Board.

Final Plat - Motion by Shell seconded by Gold to approve a final plat for
Country West Country West Subdivision. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Ordinance- Motion by Doering seconded by Olson to approve on second reading
Rezoning 103 N. Austin an ordinance rezoning property at 103 North Austin Ave. from C-1 to
Ave. from G-1 to C -2A C -2A. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ord Book 04, Page 96 8& 97)•

Ordinance - Motion by Fulkes seconded by Doering to approve on second reading
Abandon Easement of an ordinance abandoning an easement on lots 28 and 29 in San
lots 28 & 29; San Gabriel Heights V. Motion carried by unanimous vote. ( See Ord.,
Gabriel Heights V, Book #4, Pages - 98, 99, 100, 101, 102 and 103, and 104).
2nd reading
Zoning and Motion by Shell seconded by Doering to approve review of sub -
Subdivision Procedures division procedures and to have Assistant City Manager W. L.
Walden inspect street construction. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
Motion by Doering seconded by Shell to approve review of
planned Unit Development standards and to appoint City
Manager Leo Wood, City Attorney Joe McMaster, City
Secretary Jim Colbert, and Renee Hanson to prepare rec-
ommendations for the next City Council meeting. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Appeal Variance Motion by Doering seconded by Fulkes to grant a side lot line
Denial - Lot 17, variance from seven feet to five feet on lot 17, block M,
Blk. M, River River Ridge if adjacent property owners are notified. Motion
Ridge carried by unanimous vote.
Final Plat - No action was taken on this matter.
