CITY COUNCIL MEETING
MARCH II, 1980
The City Council met in, regular session on the above date at 7:00 o'clock
p.m. with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following Councilmen and
officials were present: Harry Gold, Carl Doering, Kenneth Olsen, William
Shell, Lee Fulkes, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden,
CD Coord. Jim Colbert, Dean Libbee and City Attorney Joe McMaster.
Others present were: Jim Coffman, Tommy Foust, Bill Henderson, Jean
Henderson, Harold Parker, Donald Parker, Joe Sybert, Mrs. Joe Sybert,
Lee Norton Bair, Terry Hagerty, Herb Hanson, Renee Hanson, Dan
Mishler, Don Bizzell, Sy Chazen, Janice Chazen, Hal Ligon, David
Voelter, Dick Geer, Tom Pilgrim, Pat & Betty Duncan and Floyd Chambers.
Monthly Minutes Motion by Gold seconded by Fulkes to approve the minutes of the
and Reports council meeting held on the 12th day of February, 1980. Motion carried
by a unanimous vote.
Motion by Gold seconded by Shell to approve General Fund bi!ls in
the amount of $19,129.72 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of
$319,534.99. Motion carried by a unanimous vote.
Master Plan No action until council meeting March 18, 1980.
Final Plat Motion by Olson seconded by Shell to adopt a Resolution approving
Briarwood I the Final Plat of Briarwood Unit I. Subdivision is to fall under any city
regulations that would be in effect at the time of construction or there-
after. Motion carried by a unanimous vote. ( See Ordinance Book N 3 -
Page 498).
Rezoning- Booty's No action until council meeting on March 18, -1980.
Road and Williams
Drive
Rezoning 1502-1504 No action until council meeting on March 18, 1980.
Williams Drive
Abandon Cul-de-sac No action until council meeting on March 18, 1980.
Oak Lane Circle
Sears Parking No action at this time. The City Council unanimously agreed that
the Chief of Police would at all times designate reserved, restricted and
other types of parking in the City of Georgetown.
Transportation Don Bizzell gave a report on progress of Transportation Committee
Committee Report projects and recommendations for the construction of other projects.
County Road Resol.
Motion by Olson seconded by Shell to adopt a Resolution requesting
Williamson County to build a road from Oak Crest to State Highway 29.
Motion carried by a unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 -Page 499).
Sewer CO's Curtis Adrian, representing First Southwest Company, reported that
Curtis Adrian there is a possibility for the City of Georgetown to market Certificates of
Obligation with a Governmental Agency at a good interest rate.
Motion by Gold seconded by Olson to authorize First Southwest Co.
permission to proceed with the work and applications to request a State
Agency to loan the City of Georgetown $700, 000.00. Voting was as
follows: Ayes: Fulkes, Gold, Shell, Olson. No: Doering. Motion carried.

Advertise for Motion by Gold seconded by Doering to authorize City Manager
bids on Fire Leo Wood to advertise for bids on a quick -run fire truck. Bids to be
Truck opened at next regular council meeting. Motion carried by a unanimous
vote.
Williamson County Motion by Gold seconded by Shell to approve an Ordinance on second
Cablevision and final reading granting Williamson County Cablevision a franchise for
Franchise an additional ten years. Motion carried by a unanimous vote. ( See
Ordinance Book 0 4 - Pages 1-7).
Appointments: Mayor Doerfler, with the consent of the Council, appointed Fred Hilgerman,
Planning and A.P. Prude and Pete Bouffard to the Planning and Zoning Board for a term of
zoning three years beginning March 15, 1980.
Mayor Doerfler, with the consent of the Council, appointed Harold Moore
and Susie Ramos to the Housing Authority Board for a term of two years
beginning March 15, 1980.
Low -Rent Motion By Shell seconded by Doering to adopt a Resolution authorizing
CZ Housing the Housing Authority to request a grant in the amount of $12,000.00 for
c1" Resolution studying low -rent housing needs in the City. Motion carried by a unanimous
0 vote. (See Ordinance Book 13 - Page 500).

Fulkes the meeting adjourned.
