Called City Council Meeting
July 19, 1979
The City Council met in special session on the above date at 4:15 p.m.
with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present: Harry Gold, Lee Fulkes, Kenneth Olson, Carl Doering, City
Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, Community Development
Coordinator Jim Colbert and City Inspector Tom Sams. Others present were:
Alma Ratliff, Barbara Raney, Frances Mayo, Elizabeth Sanders, C. L. Salyer,
Velma Salyer, Reba McKeithan, Mark Mitchell, Renee Hanson, John Walters,
Quentin Hix, Bill Smith and Nell Hahn.
Lone Star Gas Mayor Doerfler and councilman Gold reported that they had met with
Rate Increase Dr. Jack Hopper and that probably the maximum fee for rate consultant would
be $3,500.00. The city would pay the fee and than be reimbursed by Lone Star
Gas Company. Motion by Fulkes and seconded by Olson the hire Dr. Hopper
as the rate consultant. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Appointment- Mayor Doerfler, with the consent of the council, appointed Renee Hanson
Citizens and Morrison Parrott to the Citizens Advisory Board.

Adoption 1979- Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to approve an Ordinance adopting
1980 Budget the ensuing 1979-1980 fiscal year budget. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Fulkes to approve a 5% pay raise for
City Manager Leo Wood. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
There being no further business on a motion by Gold and seconded by
Olson the meeting adjourned.
