City Council Meeting
July 10, 1979
The City Council met in regular session on the above date at 7:00 p.m.
with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present:Harry Gold, William Shell, Carl Doering, Kenneth Olson,
Lee Fulkes, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden,
Community Development Coordinator Jim Colbert and City Attorney Joe
McMaster. Others present were: Newton and Ruth Sawyer, Lorene
Stubblefield, Frances Mayo, Jewel Carter, George Ratliff, Alma
Ratliff, James Knop, B. B. Smith, Quentin Hix, Elizabeth Sanders,
Nell Hahn, Bruce Jenkins, Alfred Adams, Warren Hall, Mark Mitchell,
Don Bizzell, Elenora Dickens, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker, Mr. and Mrs.
Rodney Montgomery, Herb Hanson, Charlene Price, Given Young,
Wi I I iom Young, Thomas Brown, Jean Henderson, Vi vian Wood, Bruce
MotheralI, Lois Patterson, Pat Patterson, Pat and Betty Duncan, B. T.
Austin, Sy Chazen, Luther Leubach, Joseph Duncan, Renee Hanson,

Monthly Minutes Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve the,minutes of
and Reports council meetings held on June 5, June 12, June 18 and June 25, 1979.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to approve General Fund
bills in the amount of $18,115.16 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of
$224,413.63. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Proclamation -Nathan The City Council issued a Proclamation to Nathan Guaiardo in
Guaiardo regard to his helping Shane Harper when he was bitten by a rattlesnake at
the VFW Park.
Lone Star Gas Rate Motion by Shell and seconded by Olson to contact a Rate Consultant
Increase in regard to the cost of services in investigating the Lone Star Gas Rate
Increase. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to call an emergency
council meeting to be held on the 10th day of July, 1979, at 10:00 p.m.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Drainage -Country Don Bizzell presented the plans on the proposed drainage construction
Club Addition in the Country Club Addition area. The council is to study the proposals
and decide on theareas to be worked on.
Chamber of Commerce Chamber President, Skip Morse, requested that the City increase
the Hotel and Motel Tax by 1%. Proceeds from the 1% increase to go
to the Chamber of Commerce. Councilman Olson was appointed to
work with the Chamber and report back at the next regular council
meeting.
Resolution -Jonah No action was taken on this matter.
Water District
Rezoning Lots 1-8, No action taken on this matter until council is assured that proper
Blk.16-N.G'town notice was given all property owners.
Resolution -Public Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to adopt a Resolution setting
Hearing -Annex. a time, place and date for a Public Hearing to be held on the annexation
of land along the North Gabriel to the North Fork Dam. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Advertise for Bids- Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering to authorize City Manager
Gas and Oil Leo Wood to advertise for bids on gas and oil for the 1979-1980 fiscal
year. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Miniature Golf Mr. Donavan requested that the city cancel the lease on the miniature
Course Lease golf course. All improvements and buildings to belong to the city. Matter to
be studied and edcided on at a later meeting.
There being no further business on a motion by Shell and seconded by
Olson the meeting adjourned.

Called City Council Meeting

The City Council met in emergency session on the above date at 10:00 p.m.
with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present: Kenneth Olson, Carl Doering, William Shell, Lee Fulkes,
Harry Gold, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, Community
Development Coordinator Jim Colbert and City Attorney Joe McMaster.
Others present were: Mark Mitchell, Don Bizzell, Bruce Jenkins, Renee Hanson,
Bill Smith, Quentin Hix, Frances Mayo, Jewel Carter and Herb Hanson and
Neil Hahn.
Lone Star Gas Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to adopt a Resolution authorizing
Rate Resolution- the Mayor to give notice to Lone Star Gas Company to suspend operation of
Suspending Rate a schedule of rates and tariffs. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Increases
There being no further business on a motion by Gold and seconded by
Shell the meeting adjourned.
