HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 06.18.1979 CC-S420 Called City Council Meeting June 18, 1979 The City Council met in special session on the above date at 4:00 p.m. with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Harry Gold, Carl Doering, Lee Fulkes, William Shell, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, Community Develop- ment Coordinator Jim Colbert and Chief of Police Travis Thomas. Others present were: Wilbur Calloway, Renee Hansen, John Walters, Lynn Eaves, Bob Rawls, Spencer Falls, James Murdock, Ron Warren, Vivian Wood, Bob Samford and Judge Chance. Judge Chance -Court Motion by Doering and seconded by Fulkes to authorize the county house Lawn to trim the large oak tree on the west side of the Courthouse Square and for the city to pay $200.00 for the trimming. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Jaycees - Fair Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve the plan for the Jaycees to hold a County Fair in the San Gabriel Park on the 27th, 28th, and 29th days of July, 1979. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Cemetery Land Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to adopt a Resolution authorizing Purchase the Mayor to purchase approximately 11 acres of land out of Outlot 12 for $20,000.00 and for the city to pay for the survey cost. Land to be used for the extension of the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Accept Bids on Motion by Doering and seconded by Gold to award a contract on 12" Water Line Project A and B in the amount of $168,443.00 to G & H General Contractors. and Pumps Motion carried by unanimous vote.
