Called City Council Meeting
May 3, 1979
The City Council met in special session on the above date at 4:00 p.m. with
Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present:Kenneth Olson, Lee Fulkes, William Shell, Harry Gold, City
Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Attorney Joe
McMaster, City Inspector Tom Sams and Community Development Coordinator
Jim Colbert. Others present were: Don Bizzell, Don Parker and John Walters.
Petition -Extend Motion by Gold and seconded by Fulkes to accept and approve a
City ETJ-Merle Petition from Merle Weir requesting that the City of Georgetown extend its
Weir-RM2243 extraterritorial jurisdiction to include all of that certain 320 acre tract out
of the Joseph Thompson Survey, Abstract No. 608 and that certain 569.98
acre tract out of the John Powell Survey, Abstract No. 491 in Williamson
County, Texas: said land being fully described in Volume 462, Page 623
and Volume 490, Page 211 of the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Ordinance -Extending Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve on first and final
City ETJ-Merle reading an Emergency Ordinance which exterdsthe City of Georgetown
Weir Property extraterritorial jurisdiction to include the Merle Weir property described
in the above petition. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Softball Field Councilman Olson reported that he, Leo Wood, Don Bizzell and Don
Bids Parker had met to discuss the bid on the Softball Field. It was recommended
to delete items 3, 4, and 7 of the original contract and to let the contract
to Parker and Rogers to construct: Items 1, 2, 5 and 6 of Change Order No. 1
for a price of $24,000.00. Motion by Olson and seconded by Shell to approve
the contract and Change Order No. 1. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
There being no further business on a motion by Shell and seconded by
Olson the meeting adjourned.
