HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 04.30.1979 CC-S408 Bids -Softball Field Called City Council Meeting Apri 1 30, 1979 The City Council met in special session on the above date at 4:00 p.m. with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Lee Fulkes, Kenneth Olson, William Shell, Carl Doering, Harry Gold, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Inspector Tom Sams and Community Development Coordinator Jim Colbert. Others present were: John Baker, Ron Haynes, Don Bizzell, John Walters and Noel Luper. The following bids were opened on the softball field. Parker and Rogers $54,600.00 Mayor Doerfler asked that Leo Wood, Kenneth Olson, Ray Rogers, Don Parker and Steger $ Bizzell study the bid and report back to council. Williamson -Burnet Williamson -Burnet County Opportunities requested that they be allowed Co. Opportunities to use the Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday, beginning June 11 and ending August 3rd. for Summer Recreation and Nutrition Program. Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering to allow them to use 1/2 of the building on the dates requested provided that they maintain and cleanup the building and provide for compensation for the utilities used. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Resolution -Public Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to adopt a Resolution setting Hearing -North a date, time and place for a public hearing on the annexation of land along San Gabriel River the North San Gabriel River. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Annexation Petition -TCS No action on this matter. Extension of E TJ Ordinance- No action on this matter. Extending ETJ Codification Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve on second and final Ordinance reading an Ordinance approving the Codification of all Ordinances of the City of Georgetown. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Ordinance- Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering to approve on second and Contract with final reading an Ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract GISD with the Georgetown Independent School District for the exchange of real property at West Side School. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Garbage Study City Manager Leo Wood presented a garbage study and recommendation on charges and pickups. Recommendation to be considered at the next regular council meeting. Sewer Study City Manager Leo Wood presented a recommendation to increase the minimum sewer charge by $1.00 for residential and $2.00 for commercial. He was instructed to present an Ordinance to this effect at the next regular council meeting. There being no further business on a motion by Gold and seconded by Olson the meeting adjourned. J n C.
