HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 03.13.1979 CC-R402 March 13, 1979 The City Council met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on the above date with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Harry Gold, William Shell, Carl Doering, Kenneth Olson, Lee Fulkes, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Inspector Tom Sams and Community Development Coord- inator Jim Colbert. Others present were: Shirley Green, Roy Green, Eutha Green, Bano Green, Felmo Headrick, Charles Shell, Tom Pilgrim, Bud Stockton, Roy Green, Stanley Bland, B. Bruce Jenkins, Wilbur Calloway, LoVerne and Carl Holloway, Gertrude Walker, Mary Maclntyre, Jimmy Billy, Mac Jones, Peggy Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Hanson, Charles Steger, Don Bizzell, Noel Looper, Vivian Wood, Jim Rehler, Harold Parker, Tommy Thompson, Jim Coffman, Ken Poteet, Dr. Gaddy and Gene Hyden. Monthly Minutes and Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering to approve the minutes of Reports Council meetings held on February 6, 1979 and February 13, 1979. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve General Fund bills in the amount of $13,572.24 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $275,784.21. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Bids -Softball Awarding of bids of the field were tabled until a later dote. Field Rezone Lots1,2,7& Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to disapprove the rezoning 8 -North Georgetown of lots 1, 2, 7 & 8 of Block 12, North Georgetown Addition. Motion Addition carried by unanimous vote. Landscape Ordinance Motion by Fulkes and seconded by Olson to disapprove a landscape Ordinance requiring landscaping of areas in RM -1 districts and higher classifications. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Mayor Doerfler appointed a committee of Harry Gold, Jim Rehler, Tom Sams and Nei l Wilkerson to study the issue and report back to counci I at a later date. Final Plot -Deer Trail Motion by Olson and seconded by Shell to adopt a Resolution approving the final plat of Deer Trail and authorizing the filing of same. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 13 - Page +310) Preliminary Plat- Motion by Gold and seconded by Fulkes to approve the preliminary Andice Oaks plat of Andice Oaks with a variance on the block length to exceed 1200'. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Preliminary Plat- Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to table this matter until Joyfour next council meeting due to the request of city sewer service. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Quit Claim Deed- This matter tabled until next regular council meeting. Doctors Georgetown Youth Verdel Turner requested the use of the new swimming pool for Youth Recreation Recreation. He was inf armed that the Council did not know whether the city or school would operate the pool. Mayor Doerfler asked that City Manager Leo Wood , Carl Doering, Coach Johnson and Jack Frost meet and decide who would operate the pool. Ordinance -Electrical Motion by Shell and seconded by Olson to approve on second and License final reading an Ordinance creating the Examination and Supervision Board of Electricians and providing for the licensing of electricians. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page #311-326) 403 Appointment- Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to adopt a Resolution appointing Electrical Exam. the initial Board of Electrical Examiners. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Board (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 0327) Resolution-Certi- Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to adopt a Resolution authorizing fing Electricians the Electrical Board to certify electricians and journeymen now having city City License licenses. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03-Page4328) Resolution -Bid Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to adopt a Resolution awarding Award -URA bids on certain parcels of land in the Urban Renewal Addition. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #3 - Page +329) Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to adopt a Resolution rescinding the bid on parcel K-21 and conveying parcel G-1. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #3 - Page #330) Resolution -Quit Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering adopting a resolution authorizing Claim-Reaven the Mayor to execute a Quit Claim Deed to Raven Hadley. Motion carried by Hadley unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page #332-333) Advertise -Bids Motion by Gold and seconchd by Fulkes to authorize City Manager Leo Wood �p Car to advertise for bids on a car for the City Manager. Motion carried by unanimous Ovote. Bids to be opened at next regular council meeting. U Ordinance- Motion by Olson and seconded by Shell to approve an Ordinance on V Abandoning second and final reading abandoning an easement between Lots 8 and 9, Easement Riverside Unit. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Riverside Unit Page +331) Appointments- Motion by Fulkes and seconded by Doering to appoint Robert McKay, Hospital Wallace Evans, Lan (Don) Hewlett III and Douglas M. Benold to the Hospital Authority Authority Board for a term of 2 years beginnirg March 12, 1979. Motion Board carried by unanimous vote. Purchase- City Manager Leo Wood reported that he had written the letter regarding MKT Land the purchase of MKT land south of the south city limits toward Round Rock, At this time he had received no reply. Construction Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to authorize the Mayor to enter Agreement- into a construction agreement between the City of Georgetown and the Texas Texas Highway Highway Department for the construction of Andice Highway. Motion carried Department by unanimous vote. Appointment- Motion by Doering and seconded by Shell to appoint Herbert P. Werchan Tax Assessor as City Tax Assessor -Collector. Salary to be $750.00 per month. Motion carried Collector by unanimous vote. There being no further business on a motion by Shell and seconded by Gold the meeting adjourned. U C'. Lin, if C.
