Called City Council Meeting
The City Council met in special session at 4:15 p.m. on the above date
with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and offi-
cals were present: Lee Fulkes, Carl Doering, Harry Gold, Ken Olson, City
Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Inspector Tom Sams,
and Community Development Coordinator Jim Colbert. Others present
were: Wilburn Calloway, Barbara Raney, Vivian Wood, John Walters
and John Gantt.
1978-1979 Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering to approve the proposed budget
Budget for the 1978-1979 fiscal year. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Gantt Aviation- Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to adopt a Resolution authorizing
Hanger the Mayor to grant written consent authorizing Johnny B. Gantt to add to
Extension his existing aircraft hanger at the Georgetown AiTart. Motion carried by
unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 237)
Advertise for- Motion by Doering and seconded by Gold to authorize City Manager
Gas $ Oil Leo Wood to advertise for bids on gas and oil to be used during the comeing
Bids year. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Bids to be opened August 8, 1978.
Condemnation Motion by Fulkes and seconded by Gold to adopt a Resolution authorizing
Resolution the City Attorney to proceed with condemnation proceedings against Jesus
M. Valdez for land to construct water and sewer lines and a street. Motion
carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #3 - Page #238)
Electrical Rate Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering to approve on first and final
Ordinance reading an Ordinance setting new rates for electrical services. Motion carried
by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #3 -Page #239)
There being no further business on a motion by Olson and seconded by
Gold the meeting adjourned.
