The City Council met in regular session on the above date at 7:00 p.m. with
Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present: Harry Gold, Carl Doering, Kenneth Olson, D. W. Scott,
William Shell, Lee Fulkes, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L.
Walden, Community Development Coordinator Jim Colbert, Animal Warden
Fred Langenegger and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were:
Tracy Tanner, Melissa Carroll, Wilbur Calloway, Jim Caskey, Hank Carver,
Hubert Brock, Charles Steger, Don Bizzell, Mrs. Logan, Mrs. Elmo Reed,
Mrs. Williams and other interested persons.
Monthly Minutes p. Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to approve the minutes of council
and Reports meetings held on March 14 and March 21, 1978. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott to approve General Fund bills in the
amount of $26,992.89 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $201,252.79.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Canvass of Election Mayor Doerfler appointed Councilman Scott and Councilman Shell to
Returns & Swear canvass the election returns of the City Officers Election held on the 1st
in Officers day of April 1978.

Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve the canvass. The voting
was as follows: AYES: Gold, Scott, Olson and Shell. ABSTAIN: Doering.
The motion carried.
City Secretary W. L. Walden administered the Oath of Office to Mayor
Doerfler, Councilmen Fulkes and Doering.
Elect Mayor Mayor Doerfler asked for nominations for Mayor Pro -Tem. Motion by
Pro -Tem Doering and seconded by Shell to elect Councilman Gold as Mayor Pro -Tem.
There were no other nominations. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
City Secretary W. L. Walden administered the Oath of Office to Councilman
Gold.
Award Swimming Councilman Doering reported that negotiations had taken place with all
Pool Bid of the bidders on the swimming pool, and Gary Pool had agreed to construct
the pool and facilities for the lowest price of $340,800.00. Motion by Doering
and seconded by Gold to award the contract to Gary Pool.. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Dog Problems- Mrs. Reed along with several other citizens discussed the problem of dogs
Mrs Elmo Reed running loose in the city. The Council informed the citizens that another man
had been employeed to help Warden Langenegger and that they would continue
to study the probelm.

BRA Contract Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve a contract with Brazos
River Authority for the purchase of raw water from the North Fork Lake.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Chisom Trail Charles Steger, representing Chisom Trail Water Supply Corp.,
Water Supply requested that the council consider selling treated water to the corporation.
Mayor Doerfler instructed Leo Wood and Charles Steger to study the matter
of quantity and supply and report back to the council at a later date.
Rezoning Ordinance- Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve on second and final
202 Austin Ave. reading an Ordinance rezoning the property at 202 South Austin Ave.
from RM -3 to C-1. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 -
Page f219)
Rezoning Ordinance- Motion by Fulkes and seconded by Doering to approve on first reading an
Block I -Clamp Ordinance rezoning the property located in the Northwest 1/4 of Block I
Addition of the Clamp Addition from RS to C-1. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Annexation Motion by Olson and seconded by Gold to approve on first reading an
Ordinance- Ordinance annexing Williams V Subdivision into the City of Georgetown.
Wi Iliams V Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Final Plat -Urban Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering adopting a Resolution approving
Renewal Agency a final plat of Lots 1 thru 9 of Block G in the Urban Renewal Addition. Motion
carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page + 225)
Motion by Gold and seconded by Doering adopting aResolution
approving a final plat of Lots 1 thru 16 of Block T in the Urban Renewal
Addition. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 -
Page 0225)
Junked Vehicle Motion by Gold and seconded by Fulkes to approve on second and final
Ordinance reading an Ordinance amending the Standard Housing Code and providing
that this Ordinance be cited as the Junked Vehicle Ordinance. Motion
carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #3 - Page #220-223)
Traffic Light -East Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to remove the traffic light at
15th and Laurel the intersection of East 15th and Laurel Streets. The light will be replaced
Streets with an amber caution light and signs on East 15th and a red flashing light and
stop sign on Laurel Street. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Citizens Partici- Motion by Gold and seconded by Olson to adopt a Resolution estab-
pation Plan lishing rules and procedures and a Citizens Participation Plan. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.

Adjustment fuel adjustment on the April billing. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
