HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 11.21.1977 CC-S362 November 21, 1977 The City Council met in special session on the above date,with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding, at 4:15 p.m. o'clock. The following councilmen and officials were present: William Shell, Harry Gold, Carl Doering, Kenneth Olson, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, Community Development Coordinator Jim Colbert and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were: Wilbur Calloway, Mike Riddell and Melissa Carroll. Beautification Mayor Doerfler issued a Proclamation proclaiming Sally Pickard as Proclamation the originator of the official slogan of the Georgetown Beautification Project. Rezoning Ordinance- Motion by Olson and seconded by Gold to approve on second and Thousand Oaks final reading an Ordinance rezoning the property in Thousand Oaks Sub- division at the intersection of IH 35 and RM 2243 from RS -Residential to C2 -A Commercial Second Height. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book *3 - Page 0187-188) Garbage Rates The committee of Olson, Shell and Wood reported to the council that the miscellaneous dumping fees at the sanitary landfill had been studied and recommended that the dumping fees now in effect are adequate but that they should be enforced beginning January 1, 1978. Particular attention was to be on trucks dumping on the residential garbage stub. Public Utility Commission Joe McMaster reported that after studing the regulations of the Public Report - Joe Utility Commission his conclusion was that the City of Georgetown did not McMaster fall under the regulations. He stated that as far as he could tell the city was not in violation of any law by charging electrical fuel adjustment by the percentage method. The Council decided to contin ue the percentage method for the present time. There being no further business on a motion by Shell, and seconded by Olson the meeting adjourned. -- C. L�JL�, J hn C.
