HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 01.11.1977 CC-RJanuary 11, 1977 The City Council met in regular session on the above date with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: J. D. Wininger, Carl Doering, Harry Gold, D. W. Scott, William Shell, City Manager Leo Wood, City Attorney Joe McMaster and Asst. City Secretary Barbara Raney. Others present were: Rodney Montgomery, Bill Smith, Everett Williams, C. A. Forbes, Buddy Adams, Jim Cole, Donna Jay, Jim Coffman, Bob Stanton and Robin Stringfellow. Monthly Minutes Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to approve the minutes of and Reports council meetings held December 7, December 14 and December 21, 1976. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to approve General Fund bills in the amount of $6,970.69 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $152, 158.22. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Lone Star Gas Motion by Wininger and seconded by Shell to approve on second and Rate Increase final reading an ordinance fixing and determining the general service rate to be charged for sale of natural gas to residential and commercial consumers within the city limits of Georgetown, Texas. The rates to be a follows: First 1,000 Cu. Ft. or Fraction thereof $3.000 Over 1,000 Cu. Ft. @ $2.035 per MCF V Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #3 - Page +117-118) V Urban Renewal Rodney Montgomery presented a resolution to the city council asking their approval of the sale of Parcel No. M-10 in the Urban Renewal Addition. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold to approve the Resolution. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 0121) Rodney Montgomery presented a resolution for the replatting of Block B in the Urban Renewal Addition. Motion by Shell and seconded by Scott to ap rove the Resolution. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 3 - Page 0119-120) Water Storage C. A. Forbes, Chairman of the Citizens Advisory Commission, and Bob Facilities Stanton, land developer, made input into the city's proposed water facilities. Mayor Doerfler passed out letters from different engineering and financial institutions concerning the matter. After much discussion the council decided that more time was needed for study of the matter before a decision could be made. A called City Council Meeting will be held Friday, January 14, 1977 at 4:00 p.m. to further discuss the city's water facilities. Parking Lot- Mayor Doerfler presented a letter stating that Mrs. Velma Davis would 7th Street sell the City of Georgetown the parking lot at East 7th Street for $11,000.00. Motion by Doering and seconded by Shell to purchase the land on the condition that the city make a parking lot at 9th and Rock Streets and move city equipment from this loction to Timber and West Streets, as soon as this land becomes available to the city. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Electrical Fuel Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve a 94% electrical fuel Adjustment adjustment on the January billing. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Resolution -Law Mayor Doerfler presented a Resolution mailed to him from the City of Austin Enforcement concerning the Law Enforcement Commission. No action was taken on this Commission Resolution.
