September 14, 1976
The City Council met in regular session on the above date with Mayor
John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present:
Carl Doering, J. D. Wininger, Harry Gold, D. W. Scott, William Shell,
City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Inspector Tom
Sams and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were: Joel Wilkenson,
Don Bizzell, Riley Robbins, Rodney Montgomery, John Davidson, Kent Ledeker,
Jim Reh ler, Linda Graves and Bill Smith.
Monthly Minutes Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott to approve the minutes of the
and Reports Council Meeting held on the 10th day of August, 1976. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold to approve the General
Fund bills in the amount of $14,529.07 and Utility Fund bills in the amount
of $216,688.12. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Bids -Hike and Bike The following bids were opened on the Hike and Bike Trail:

Mayor Doerfler appointed a committee of Doering, Scott and Wood to
study the bids and report back at a special council meeting to be held at
4:00 p.m., September 22, 1976.
Bids -Neighborhood There were no bids received on the Neighborhood Center. Bid opening
Center date was extended until the special council meeting to be held September 22,
1976.
United Way -Linda Linda Graves presented the Georgetown United Way fund drive plans.
Graves The goal for this year is $19,650.00. Motion by Shell and seconded by Doering
to approve the plan and division of the money collected. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Safeway Electrical Safeway requested that their store be put on a lower electrical rate.
Charge After discussion of the matter, Mayor Doerfler announced that a decision
would be reached on Safeway's electrical rate at the special council meeting
to be held September 22, 1976.
VFW Lease Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve the request of the
VFW to lease 3.18 acres of city owned land southwest of the existing building
between College Street and the Son Gabriel River. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
Urban Renewal- Motion by Wininger and seconded by Scott to approve the price and
Sale of Lot conditions for the sale of Parcel .S-3 in the Urban Renewal District. Motion
carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 096)
Resub.-Lot03-111_04- Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold to approve the resubdivision
Crestview IV of Lot 3 - Block 4 of Crestview Addition IV. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Preliminary Plat- Motion by Scott and seconded by Shell to approve the Preliminary Plat
Tonkowan Subd, of Tonkowan Subdivision. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Preliminary Plat- Action on this plat was tabled until the council meeting to be held
Greenridge September 22, 1976.

Wood to advertise for bids on the lease of approximately 300 acres of land at

Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Closing of Motion by Wininger and seconded by Doering to approve on second and
Forest Street final reading an Ordinance closing that portion of Forest Street lying between
East 8th and East 9th Streets. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance

Heights IV
Electrical Fuel Motion by Shell and seconded by Wininger to approve an electrical fuel
Adjustment Adjustment charge of 94% on the September bi fling. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
The City Council approved the charge of $30.00 for the mowing of lots
1 & 2, 1/2 of 7 & 8 and part of 3, 4, 5, 6, of Block 6 in the Glasscock
Addi tion.
