June 25, 1976
The City Council met in special session on the above date at 4:00 p.m..
o'clock with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and
officials were present: Dee W. Scott, William Shell, Carl Doering, Harry Gold,
City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Inspector Tom
Sams and City Electrical Supt. Tony Shenk. Others present were: Donna Jay,
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henderson and Ken Rehler.
Bid Opening- The following bids were opened on the Neighborhood Center and Stonehaven
Neighborhood Center:

Stonehaven 1. Ray & Neal Lubinski Contractors $68,109.00 $17,597.00
Center 2. Structure Contractors $64,146.00 $12,872.00
3. Thomas Brothers Construction $60,884.00 $14,586.00
Mayor Doerfler appointed a committee of Gold, Doering, Wood and Rehler
to study the bids and report back at the next regular council meeting to be
held on July 13, 1976,
Bicentennial The Bicentennial Commission requested the use of an area in the San
Carnival Gabriel Park to hold a carnival on July 2, 3, and 4, 1976. Motion by Gold
and seconded by Doering to approve the request. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Jaycee Building Councilman Shel I recommended that the City lease to the Jaycees an area
Site south of the VFW building between College Street and the San Gabriel River
to erect a building. Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to lease the land
with the understanding that no tree trimming would be allowed without the
permission of the Mayor or City Manager. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Rezoning -1500 Councilman Doering, representing the appointed committee to study the
Park Lane rezoning of 1500 Park Lane, recommended that the rezoning be allowed. Motion
by Doering and seconded by Shell to approve an ordinance on first reading for
rezoning 1500 Park Lane from RM -3 to C2 -A. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Annexation- Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott to approve a Resolution setting a
Public Hearing- time to hold a public hearing on the annexation of Northwood Oaks. The
Northwood public hearing to be held July 13, 1976 at 6:30 p.m.. Motion carried by
Oaks unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 079-80)
There being no further business on a motion by Shell and seconded by Scott
the meeting adjourned.
