HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 05.19.1976 CC-S312 May 19, 1976 The City Council met in special session on the above date at 4:00 p.m. with Mayor John Doerfler presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: William Shell, Harry Gold, J. D. Wininger, D. W. Scott, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden and Chief of Police Travis Thomas. Others present were: Donna Jay, Sam McKenzie, Larry Roberts, Pauline Nolen and Jim Nolen. Traffic Survey Presentations from Hunter & Associates and Transportation Engineering Study Associates were heard by the council in regard to a traffic survey study funded by the Governor's office. Mayor Doerfler appointed a committee of Gold, Shell and Thomas to study the proposals of both firms and report their recommendations at a special council meeting to be held on the 24th day of May, 1976 at 4:30 p.m. . Purchase of IOOF Councilman Wininger reported that he had met with officials of the Building IOOF Lodge and the proposal was as follows: Sell the building to the City of Georgetown for $28,500.00. City to furnish building site with a 99 year lease with option to lease after 99 years. City to put up $2,500.00 in escrow and the IOOF Lodge be allowed to use the present building until their new building is built. No action was taken by the council at this time. The Council will consider this proposal at the next regular council meeting to be held June 8, 1976.
