HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 04.05.1976 CC-S304 Apri 1 5, 1976 The City Council met in special session on the above date with Mayor D. W. Scott presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present: William Shell, John Doerfler, J. D. Wininger, William Luedecke, City Manager Leo Wood and City Secretary W. L. Walden. Others present were: Carl Doering, Buddy Adams and Donna Jay. Canvass of Election Mayor Scott appointed Councilman Shell and Councilman Luedecke Returns to canvass the votes cast in the City Council Election held April 3rd, 1976. The committee reported the following results of the canvass: MAYOR Jay C. Sloan 619 John C. Doerfler 895 COUNCILMAN: Dee W. Scott 686 J. D. Wininger 524 William H. Luedecke 111 451 Carl J. Doering 676 Clyde C. Woerner 475 Oath of Office City Secretary W. L. Walden administered the oath of office to newly elected Mayor John Doerfler. Mayor Doerfler administered the oath of office to Councilman Scott and Councilman Doering. Resolution- Mayor Doerfler requested that a Resolution be drafted expressing Councilmen the appreciation for service of Councilman Winingerand Councilman Luedecke. Sub Fire Station Councilman Shell reported that Alston Corporation had withdrawn Bids their bid submitted to the Council at a meeting held on the 25th day of March, 1976. Councilman Shell recommended that the bid then be awarded to M. H. Braden Construction for the amount of $99,991.00. Motion by Luedecke and seconded by Scott to accept the recommendation. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Appointments The Council agreed to appoint the Mayor Pro -Tem and a Councilman to fill the unexpired term of Councilman Doerfler at the next regular counci 1 meeting to be held April 12, 1976. Georgetown School Councilman Shell requested that the council consider Georgetown Election Location Independent School District holding their election at a different location in the future. The reasoning being that the Georgetown Fire Station is too small to hold two elections at the same time. The council agreed and instructed the City Secretary to look into the situation.
