HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 12.15.1975 CC-S297 December 15, 1975 The City Council met in special session at 5:00 p.m. on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Crawford presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: William Shell, John Doerfler, Harry Gold, J. D. Wininger, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Attorney Joe McMaster and City Inspector Tom Sams. Others present were bill Schott, Ronald Parker, Bob Anderson and Donna Jay. Award Water The City Council heard a report from the committee appointed by Mayor I ntake Structure Crawford to study the bids on the Water Intake Structure. Before any recommend - Bid ations from the committee were heard Bill Schott informed Ronald Parker, representative for Russell Don Parker, that no Performance or Payment Bond had been received by the City of Georgetown. Ronald Parker was asked if he understood that the successful bidder, upon his failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract and bonds required within 10 days after he has received notice of the acceptance of his bid, shall forfeit to the City of Georgetown as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with his bid. Ronald Parker said that he and Russell Don Parker thoroughly understood. Bill Schott then recommended to the City Council that Russell Don Parker be awarded the contract for Proposal A in the amount of $208,901.00. Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to award the contract to Russell Don Parker on Proposal A. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Bill Schott recommended that the bid and security check on Proposal B be held for the 45 day period or a portion thereof. U V Resolution- Motion by Wininger and seaanded by Gold to approve a Resolution author - Urban Renewal izing Mayor Crawford and City Secretary Walden to submit bids and execute Agency any and all instruments on Tracts I & II, Block I in the Urban Renewal District. Motion carried by unanimous vote.(See Ordinance Book 03 - Page 0 37-38) Resolution- The City Council took no action on the LCRA Resolution until a recommend- LCRA ation could be heard from City Attorney Joe McMaster. This Resolution wi I I be on the Agenda for the next regular council meeting to be held on January 12, 1976.
