HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 08.11.1975 CC-RAugust 11, 1975 The City Council met on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Crawford presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: William Shell, John Doerfler, Harry Gold, J. D. Wininger, Dee Scott, City Manger Leo Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, City Inspector Tom Sams and City Attorney Joe B. McMaster. Others present were: Riley Robbins, Podney Montgomery, Charles Steiger, Jim Coffman, Harold Parker, Buddy Adams, Mrs. Goff and Bob Stanton. Monthly Minutes & Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve the minutes of Reports Council meetings held on July 8, July 14, July 18 and July 29, 1975. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Scott to approve General Fund bills in the amount of $7,778.24 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $125,560.48. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Gas & Oil Bids Bids were opened to furnish the Ciiyof Georgetown with one years supply of gas and oil. Mayor Crawford appointed a committee of City Manager Leo Wood, Councilman Dee Scott and Councilman J. D. Wininger to study the bids and report back to the council at a later date. Parking Around Mrs. Goff requested that the City Council study the problem of parking Square -Mrs. Goff around the Courthouse Square. The Council took this matter under advisement. Annexation Ordin- City Attorney Joe McMaster advised that the second reading of the once -Sherrill Oaks Sherrill Oaks Armexatiori' Ordinance be tabled until a later date. Motion by Shell and seconded by Doerfler to table the reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Urban Renewal- Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve a Resolution auth- Replat of Blk. R orizing the filing of Block R in the Urban Renewal District. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page +483-484) Urban Renewal- Motion by Scott and seconded by Wininger to approve an Ordinance Abandonment West vacating and abandoning portions of West Street and West 5th Street in the Street & West 5th Urban Renewal District. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance S tree t Book 02 - Page 0484-486) Abandonment 7th, Motion by Wininger and seconded by Scott to approve an Ordinance 8th , & Hodges- vacating and abandoning portions of 7th Street, 8th Street and Hodges Street Urban Renewal in the Urban Renewal District. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 0487-489) Change in Urban Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve a Resolution amending Renewal Lot & the Urban Renewal lot and street layout plan. Motion carried by unanimous Street Layout vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page #490-491) Zoning Change- Motion by Shell and seconded by Scott to approve a Resolution calling Urban Renewal for a public hearing to held on the 8th day of September, 1975 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. to consider a zoning change on Lots 1 & 2 in Block I in the Urban Renewal District. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page #491) Building Code Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to approve an Ordinance Ordinance on the first reading, adopting and updating the Standard Building Code. Motion carried by unanimous. vote. Plumbing Code Motion by Doerfler and seconded by Shell to approve an Ordinance Ordinance on the first reading adopting the Standard Plumbing Code. Motion carried by unanimous vote. QD C� V V 287 Gas Code- Motion by Wininger and seconded by Shell to approve an Ordinance on Ordinance the first reading regulating the installation of gas pipe and appliances. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Mechanical Code- . Motion by Wininger and seconded by Shell to approve an Ordinance on Ordinance first reading regulating the installation and maintenance of heating and cooling systems. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Swimming Pool Motion by Wininger to approve an Ordinance on first reading regulating Code -Ordinance the construction and maintenance of swimming pools. Motion died for lack of a second. Historical Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott to approve the Historical Zoning Zoning Ordinance on the second and final reading. Motion carried by unani mous vote. Ordinance (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page #492-494) Quail Meadow Motion by Scott and seconded by Gold to approve an Ordinance on first I & II -River reading annexing Quail Meadow Units I & II and River Bend Units 1, 11 & III. Bend I, II, &III Motion carried by unaimous_vote. Annexation Ordinance Final Plat- Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve a Resolution authorizing River Bend Units the filing ofthe final plat on River Bend Units 1, 11 & Ill. Motion carried by I, II & 111 unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page #496-498) Final Plot - Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve a Resolution authorizing Georgetown the filing for record of the final -plot on Georgetown South. Motion carried by South unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 0494-495) Final Plot- Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve a Resolution authorizing Sanaloma the filing for record of the final plat on Sanoloma Estates. Motion carried by Estate unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page #495) Replat- Gabriel Motion by Wininger and seconded by Scott approving a Resolution authorizing Heights the filing for record of the replat of a portion of Gabriel Heights Addition, Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page x%496) 60% Electrical Motion by Wininger and seconded by Scott to approve an electrical fuel Fuel Adjustment - adjustment charge of 60% on the August billing. Motion carried by unanimous Charge vote. Lone Star Gas Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to approve on first reading an Rate Increase Ordinance setting new gas rates to be charged in the City of Georgetown. Motion Ordinance carried by unanimous vote. At this time,Mayor Crawford announced that the Council would go into executive session authorized under V.T.C.S. Article 6252-17, Section 2(b) 1(b). After the executive session, the meeting was opened to the public. There being no further business on a motion by Shell and seconded by Scott the meeting adjourned. ATTEST: oe E.
