June 9, 1975
The City Council met on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Crawford
presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present. William
Shell, John Doerfler, Harry Gold, J. D. Wininger, City Manager Leo
Wood, City Secretary W. L. Walden, and City Attorney Joe McMaster,
and City Inspector Tom Sams. Others present were: Buddy Adams, Rodney
Montgomery, Charles Steiger, Fred Bandas, Cathy Hubbard and other
interested citizens.
Monthly Minutes & Motion by Gold and seconded by Shell to approve the minutes of the
Reports City Council meeting held on May 12, 1975. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that General Fund bills
in the amount of $8,388.98 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $108,677.24
be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Paving Bids The following bids to furnish the City of Georgetown with approximately
50,000 square yards of asphaltic concrete overlay and approximately
15, 000 square yards of seal coat were opened:

Mayor Crawford appointed a committee of Doerfler, Wood and
Walden to study the bids and report back to the special called Council
meeting at 4:00 p.m. on the 12th day of June, 1975.
Police Car Bids The following bid was opened to furnish the City of Georgetown
wi th a 1975 four door po I i ce car.

$3,995.00
Motion by Shell and seconded by Doerfler to accept the bid. Votes
were as follows:
AYES: Shell, Doerfler
NOES: Gold, Wininger
Mayor Crawford voted AYE, thus breaking the tie and passing the
motion.
Sherrill Oaks Sherrill Oaks Subdivision Preliminary Plat was presented to the City
Subdivision Council for approval. Motion by Doerfler to approve the plat. Motion died
Prelim. Plat for o'lack of -msec' and
Girl Scouts- The Georgetown Girl Scouts requested the use of land owned by the
Request for City of Georgetown to erect a Girl Scout building. Mayor Crawford appointed
Park Land a committee of Shell, Gold and Wood to work with Mrs. Kathy Hubbard
in finding a suitable site for the building.
Georgetown Area Councilman Gold reported that the Community Theatre could not
Community Theatre appear on this date but would come before the Council at a later date.
URA Abandonment Motion by Gold and seconded by Doerfler to approve an Ordinance
Portion West 3rd & vacating and abandoning a portion of West Third and West Street in the
West Street Urban Renewal Area. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance

Block Q - Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to approve a Resolution authorizing
URA the filing for record of a replat of Block "Q" in the .South San Gabriel Urban
Renewal Addition. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 -
Page # 466)
Block J - URA Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve a Resolution authorizing
the filing for record of a replat of Block "J" in the South San Gabriel Urban
Renewal Addition. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 -
Page # 467)
Section 8 - Motion by Shell and seconded by Wininger to approve a resolution designating
Housing the Public Housing Authority the administrator of the Section 8 Housing Funds.
Administrator Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page # 472-473)
Airport Lease Motion by Shell and seconded by Wininger to approve a resolution authorizing
Bob Stanton Mayor Crawford to execute an agreement with Bobby G. Stanton to lease five
acres of land at the Georgetown Municipal Airport. Motion carried by unanimous
vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page #470)

�+ Manuel Lozano Motion by Shell and seconded by Wininger to approve a Resolution authorizing
CD Condemnation of City Attorney Joe McMaster to proceed with condemnation proceedings on land
Block # 49 located in Block 49 owned by Manuel Lozano and wife. Motion carried by
unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book # 2 - Page # 471)
Ordinance- Rules Motion by Shell and seconded by Wininger to approve on second and final
& Regulations reading an Ordinance on Rules and Regulations regarding local utilities, under
Utility Rate city franchises requesting rate changes. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Advertise -1655' Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to authorize City Manager Wood
12" Sewer- North to advertise for bids on 1655 feet of V.C. sewer pipe in place from IH 35 to
west Blvd. Janis Drive. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
60% Electrical Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold to approve an electrical fuel
Fuel Charge adjustment charge of 60% on the June billing. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Hole Digger Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to approve the purchase of a
Texhoma hole digger machine from Bartlett County Coop for $4,500.00. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Neighborhood Motion by Shell and seconded by Gold to approve the moving of a house
Center furnished by the Urban Renewal Agency to the corner of 9th and West Street.
Cost of moving is $900.00. This house is to be used for a Neighborhood Facility
until a new facility can be built at which time the building will revert to city
use for office and storage. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
BOR Park Mayor Crawford stated that the :C;ty{af.Geo(getowmwas in the process
Grant & of applying for a $25,000.00 grant from the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation to
Resolution be used on a hike and bike trail connecting the VFW Park with the San Gabriel
Park. Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger to approve a Resolution
authorizing The City Manager to act as Fiscal Officer and representative for the
City in dealing with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Motion carried
by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page # 474)
There being no further business on a motion by Gold and seconded by Shell
the meeting adjourned.
