HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 03.11.1974 CC-R23 ' March 11, 1974 The City Council met on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Crawford presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Harry Gold, J. D. Wininger, Dee Scott, Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood and City Secretary W. L. Walden. Others present were: Andy Wel ch, Charlie Farrow, Gilbert Bredthauer, David True, John Gamble, Curtis Adrian, Riley Robbins, Bill Schott and Roger Erickson. Monthly Minutes Motion by Scott and seconded by Wininger that minutes of the City Council and Reports meeting held February 11, 1974 be approved as presented. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Brock that General fund bills in the amount of $10,454.94 and Utility fund bills in the amount of $16,543.61 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Open bids on The following bids were opened on furnishing the City of Georgetown Police Car with one (1) 1974 model, four door sedan police car. 1. Compton Motor Company - $3,040.00 2. Draeger Motor Company - $2,894.99 Mayor Crawford appointed Councilman Scott and Councilman Brock to check the bids against the specifications to see if the bids comply with all O specifications. VOpen Bids on The following bids were opened on furnishing the city with a 750 GPM Pump for Well #4 pump for Well 04. 1. Bradshaw and Associates - $13,650.00 2. Wright Water Well Service - $15,375.00 Mayor Crawford appointed Councilman Wininger, Councilman Brock and City Manager Leo Wood to check the bids against the specifications to see if the bids comply with all specifications. Charlie Farrow- A request from Mr. Farrow that the penalty on deliquent taxes not be charged Interest on Taxes due to the nature of the tax notice. Mr. Farrow claims that the notice is mis- leading in that it shows to be a receipt instead of a notice. It was decided that Mr. Farrowwould not have to pay the penalty and interest. Junked Motor An ordinance providing for the handling of abandoned or junked vehicles Vehicle Ordinance was presented to the council. Motion by Brock seconded by Wininger that the Ordinance be passed on the first reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page 0351-353) Rezoning T -Com A Rezoning Ordinance was presented to the City Council requesting that the property now occupied by T -Com Corp. and being more fully described in the Ordinance,be rezoned from C1 to C2A. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Scott that this Ordinance be passed on the first reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page +354-355) Urban Renewal A Resolution authorizing the execution of the Supplemental Cooperation Resolution Agreement between the City of Georgetown and the Georgetown Urban Renewal Agency was presented to the City Council for adoption. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Brock that the Resolution be adopted. Motion carried by un- animous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page #355-356) University Hills- A Petition for Annexation and an Annexation Ordinance for University Annexation Hills, Section one, was presented to the City Council. Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that this Annexation Ordinance be passed on the first reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book M 2 - Page 357-358) 236 Advertise for Bid- Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott that City Manager Leo Wood Neighborhood be authorized to advertise for bids on work to be done on the Son Gabriel Facility Park Neighborhood Facility. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Bids to be opened and read at the next regular council meeting to be held April 8, 1974. Curtis Adrian- Curtis Adrian, Financial Advisor, reported to the City Council Financial his findings and recommendations on the upcoming bond election. He Advisor requested that the City Council advise him of the actions that he should take at the next regular council meeting. Tom Graves- A letter from the Directors of the Stonehaven Community Center was Stonehaven presented to the City Council requesting the city to increase the amount of Center money in next years budget from $6,550.00 to $7,000.00. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold that this increase be approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. J. C. Labenski- Mayor Crawford reported that he had been served with a citation from Law Suit the District Court Clerk. The citation reads J. D. Labenski VS Lone Star Gas Company, et al. The citation is in reference to the damages incurred by Labenski when Turbex Construction Company, a contractor for Lone Star Gas, broke a 8" water main in the 1500 block of Williams Drive. 35% Electrical Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold to approve a 35% fuel adjustment Fuel Adjustment and commodity clause adjustment increase on the March billing.
