HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 12.10.1973 CC-R229 December 10, 1973 The City Council met on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Crawford presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Harry Gold, William Eanes, Hubert Brock; J. D. Wininger, Dee Scott, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager W. L. Walden, City Secretary Claud Eads and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were: Rodney Montgomery, Gary Seaman, David True, Jay Sloan, Vera Allen, Hellen Day, Irene Lindquist, Timothy Maresh, Ken Poteet and Ted Grossman. Monthly Minutes Motion by Gold and seconded by Scott that minutes of the City Council and Reports Meeting held November 12, 1973, be approved as presented. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Brock that General fund bills in the amount of $3,548.08 and Utility Fund bills in the amount of $33,841.65 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Urban Renewal- Rodney Montgomery,- Director of the Urban Renewal Agency, presented Vacate&Abandon an ordinance vacating and abandoning portions of West 15th and 16th Streets. C0 West 15th&16th Motion by Eanes and seconded by Scott that the Ordinance be passed on the first reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page 337) CIDU V Urban Renewal- Rodney Montgomery presented a resolution to approve a Replat of Block D, Replat Lots 1 through 11 of the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition. Motion Resolution by Eanes and seconded by Scott that this resolution be accepted as presented. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book *27 Page 336) Resolution to A Resolution to vacate Gabriel Heights Resubdivision No. 1 was presented Vacate Gabriel to the council by Timothy Maresh. Motion by Scott and seconded by Brock Heights Resub- that the resolution be accepted as presented. Motion carried by unanimous vote. division #1 (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 331-333) Hospital Authority An ordinance amending Section 3 of the original Hospital Authority Ordinance Ordinance was presented to the City Council for the second reading. Motion Amendment by Gold and seconded by Wininger that the ordinance be passed on second reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 2 - Page 326-328) Hotel & Motel An ordinance to provide for the assessment and collection of a room Tax Ordinance occupancy tax on hotels and motels was presented to the City Council for the first reading. All proceeds of this tax shall be used for improving and operating the Community Center, located in San Gabriel Park. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Brock that the ordinance be passed on the first reading. Motion carried by uanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book 02 - Page 334-335) Continuation - Motion by Eanes and seconded by Brock to continue the 5% fuel adjustment 59/6 Fuel Adjust- increase on the January billing. Motion carried by unanimous vote. ment Increase City Animal Vera Allen presented to the City Council a request for better shelter, food Shelter and care for the animals held in the City Animal Shelter. Mayor Crawford advised the group to present a plan to City Manager Leo Wood,. There being no further business on a motion by Scott and seconded by Wininger the meeting adjourned.
