HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 09.11.1972 CC-RSeptember 11, 1972 The City Council met in regular session on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Crawford presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present, William Lanes, Hubert Brock, Dee Scott, J. D. Wininger, Harry Gold, City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary Claud Eads and Chief of Police John Shearin. Others present were Harold Conley, Dianne Brown, Bill Buchanan, Ed Zucknick, Bodie McCormick and Bob Morelle. Monthly minutes Motion by Eanes and seconded by Wininger that minutes of the and Reports council meeting held'Auguat 14, 1972, be approved as presented. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that General fund bills in the amount of $9,890.08 and Utility bills in the amount of $43,671.55 be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Bids for Paving The following bids were opened for paving on Park Road: on Park Road young Brothers 500 per square foot Latson Construction 600 per square foot Austin Paving 550 per square foot Bandas Paving 500 per square foot Mayor Crawford appointed Brock, Scott and Manager Wood to review bids on paving. Lone Star Gas- Mr. Ed Zucknick requested the council grant Lone Star Gas Company Rate Increase a rate increase. No action was taken. Abandoned Car An abandoned vehicle ordinance was presented to the council by Ordinance Chief of Police John Shearin. The ordinance was read and discussed by City Attorney Joe McMaster. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Eames that the ordinance be passed on its first reading. Motion carried by unanimous .Vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 288) Airport The Airport Annexation was presented for its second reading. Motion Annexation by Lanes and seconded by Wininger that Airport Annexation by passed on its second and final reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Arrowhead Arrowhead Subdivision plat and annexation was presented to the Subdivision council. It contained 159 lots and 68 acres. This was phase 1 and five more phases are to follow. Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that the subdivision ordinance and annexation be passed on its first reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 291) Advertise for Manager Wood requested that he be authorized to advertise for bids Pickups on three -1 ton pickups for various departments. Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that City Manager Wood be authorized to advertise for bids on three - ton pickups. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Advertise for Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that City manager Wood be Electrical Supp- authorized to advertise for bidson electrical supplies. Motion carried lies by unanimous vote. Latson Cont. - Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that the final bill from Final Bill Latson Construction in the amount of $2,205.59 be approved and paid. The bill was for subgrade work in the Urban Renewal Area. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
