Closing Holly Motion by Lanes and seconded by Scott that the Ordinance closing
Street Ordinance part of Holly Street near the Shell property be passed to its second and
final reading. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
F. E. 11olloman - Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that a 60 day extension
60 Day Extension be granted to F. E. Holloman, contractor on the sewer project. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Building permit A proposed building permit fee was discussed, but, no action was
Fee taken.
Ammendment to Motion by Eanes and seconded.by Gold that the 1969 Fire Prevention
Fire Prevention Ordinance be amended to adopt the.1970 Edition and be passed on its
Code first reading. Uotion'carried by unanimous vote. See Ordinance Book

The City Council met on the above date with Mayor Joe E. Craw-
ford presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present,
William Eanes, Harry Gold, D. W. Scott, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock,
City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads and City Attorney
Joe McMaster. Others present were Hill Buchanan, Bob Weatherby, James
Shankiin, Nancy Shanklin, Santos Herera, Leo Spicer, A. W. Tanksley,
Ed Ickes, Ed Zucknick, Mrs. Roger A. Givens, W. I1. Mullins, Roy Roberts,
Nora Harris, Gene Inks and Gene•Martinka.
Monthly Reports
Motion by Eanes and seconded by Wininger that minutes of Council
and Bills
meetings held April 24,•1972 and April 10, 1972, be approved as
presented. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that General fund bills
in the amount of $3,986.32 and Utility bills in the amount of $27,596.73
be approved and paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Lone Star Gas
Mr. Ed Zucknick, local manager of Lone Star Gas Company, was present
Rate Increase
and presented a request for an increase in local rates.
The proposal was discussed at lenght by the council. Mayor Joe
E. Crawford appointed Councilmen Gold and Brock to discuss the matter
with Mr. Zucknick and report back to the council at the next regular
meeting.
Ura. Givens -
Street paving on West 15th Street was discussed at lenght by Mrs.
Street Paving
Roger Givens and other residences concerned with the paving on their
block. Mayor Crawford suggested that Manager Wood work with the group
in getting the street paved, and he explained the City's street
paving policy to the group.
Bill Buchanan -
Bill Buchanan, Chamber of Commerce President, presented to the
Chamber of
council a letter which would make the downstairs part of the old City
Commerce
Hall available to the amber of Commerce, with no cost for their

quarters. The Council ageed to let the Chamber of Commerce have the
building,provided the Chamber do their on remodeling and pay for
Liability Insurance covering the facility. Motion by Lanes and seconded
by Gold that the above agreement with the Chamber of Commerce be
approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote.

Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that the B -B Gun Or -
Ordinance
dinance be passed to its second and final reading. Votes as follows:
AYES: Gold, Eanes, Brock and Wininger. NOES: D. W. Scott.
