January 10, 1972
The City Council met in regular session on the above date with
Mayor"Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials
were present, William Eanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger,
Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads.
Others present were Electrical Superintendent Willie.Robinson,.Bill .
Buchanan, Richard Mittanck and Mrs. Norma Harris.

Water System
The following bids were opened on electrical work:
Southwest Electric Corp. $189570.00
Jedd Construction Company 31,743.91
Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the low bid made by
Southwest Electrical Corp. be accepted. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
The following bids for automation of water system were opened:
Statewide Electric Company
Bradshaw & Associates
$8,560.00
8,261.20
Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that low bid by Bradshaw &
Associates in the amount of $8,261.20 be accepted. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
Stonehaven A letter from Stonehavenwritten by Mrs. James Rehler requesting
Contribution contribution was read by Mayor Sloan.
Motion by Crawford and seconded by Brock that $5,322.00 be
included in next years budget for Stonehaven Center. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.
American Legion Kennie Wilcox asked that the council accept the American Legion
Hall Hall and pay a $300.00 note that is owed on the building.
Mr. Wilcox stated that he and William Stump would contact the
members of the American Legion Hall and get their reaction on the
matter and report to the Council at their regular meeting February 14,
1972.'
Public Hearing- A public hearing was heard on a proposed contract between Brazos.
Brazos River River Authority and the City of Georgetown for the southeast sewer
Authority line.
Brazos River Following the above hearing the contract ordinance with Brazos
Authority River Authority was read by Mayor Sloan.
Contract Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that the ordinance be passed.
Votes as follows: AYES: Eanes, Gold, Crawford, Wininger and Brock.
NOES: None. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 265)
Advertise for Motion by Brock and seconded by Gold that City Manager Wood be
Electrical authorized to advertise for bids on a new pick-up for the electric
Pick-up Bids Department. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Monthly Bills Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that
Utility bills in the
amount of $22,416.61 and General fund bills in
the amount of
$2,165.61 be approved and paid. Motion carried
by unanimous vote.

Advertise for Mayor Sloan stated that there would be a called meeting to advertise
New Fire for bids on a new fire station on January 24, 1972.

Letters from Two letters were read'by Mayor Sloan concerning leases between the
V. F. W.,and V.F.W. and Sheriff's Posse which are a part of these minutes:

Gentlemen:
This is to confirm notice by you that a lease agreement dated the 25th of
August, 1969, between the City of Georgetown and Williamson County Sheriffs
Posse has been assigned to you by the said Williamson County Sheriffs Posse
in consideration of your making a loan to the posse in the amount of $7,500.00.
:This also confirms that your notice of this assignment and your security
interest in the described lease is hereby made a part of the City records
and will be officially read into the minutes of the City Council of the
City of Georgetown at their next scheduled meeting of January 10, 1972,
at 7:30 p.m.

This is to confirm notice by you that a lease agreement dated the 17th
of August, 1971, between the City of Georgetown and M/Sgt. Ben D. Snowden,
Post No. 8587, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Georgetown,
Texas, has been assigned to you by the said M/Sgt. gen D. Snowden in con-
sideration of your making a loan to the Veterans in the amount of $15,000.00.
This also confirms that your notice of this assignment and your security
interest in the described lease is hereby made a part of the City records
and will be officially read into the minutes of the City Council of the
City of Georgetown at their next scheduled meeting of January 10,1972,

Zoning The Zoning Commission recommended a zoning change to the Council. Motion
Recommendation by Gold and seconded by Eanes that the zoning change be accepted to change
old Mutual Lumber Company property from C2A to R.S. Motion carried by unan-
imous vote.
There being no further business on a motion by Wininger and seconded
by Gold the meeting adjourned.
