July 28, 1971
The City Council met in called session on the above date with
Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officals
were present, William R. Lanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D.
Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manger Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager
Claud Eads and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were Norma
Harris, Ed Horne, Walter Scuddy, John McDonald, Leonora Cook, Bill
Buchanan, Bill Aston, and James Duff.
Jonah Water
Mr. Ed Horne represented the Jonah Water Supply in trying to buy
Supply
water from the City of Georgetown. The Council discussed furnishing
water to the Jonah Water Supply with many questions being asked from
both parties. Mayor Sloan suggested that the Council make a further
study in reguard to supplying water to the Jonah Water Corporation.
Southeast
W. H. Mullins, City Engineer for the sewer project to serve the
Sewer Project
Southeast section of Georgetown, recommended to the Council to advertise
for bids to be opened on August 30, 1971 and adopt a resolution to
do the same.
Motion by Gold and seconded by Wininger that Mayor Sloan be
authorized to enter into a.memorandum agreement with the Brazos River
Authority concerning the sewer project and advertise for bids.

Bandas Paving
Motion by Crawford and seconded by Brock that the hill from
Bill
Bandas Paving Inc. in the amount of $9,653.28 be approved and paid.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Storm Drainage
Motion by Crawford and seconded by Gold that bids for construction
Ditch
of a storm drainage ditch on Eubank Street be opened August 9, 1971.
Motion carried by unanimous vote. .
1971-1972
Motion by Eanes and seconded by Wininger that the operating

budget for 1971-1972 be adopted. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Rebate
Motion by Eanes and seconded by Wininger that the Rebate Ordin-
Ordinance
ance be passed to its second and final reading and to be effective
beginning August 1, 1971. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See
Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 252)
Industrial Waste An amendment to our Industrial Waste Ordinance was presented by
Ordinance City Attorney Joe McMaster. Motion by Brock and .seconded by Wininger
Amended that above ordinance be passed to its first reading. Motion carried
by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 252)
There being no further business on a motion by Crawford and
seconded by Gold the meeting adjourned.
