HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 03.22.1971 CC-S161 March 22, 1971 The City Council met in called session on'the above date with Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present, William Lanes, Harry Gold, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Hubert Brock, City Manager Leo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads, and City Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were Bill Buchanan, gilbert Bredthauer, Carl Dunn, Richard Mittanek, Harold Parke;, A. F. Davis, Russell Don Parker, Norma Harris, William Lott, James Rehler, Don Scar- brough and Frank Farris. CLUAD EADS. CITY SECRETARY City Manager's The following bids were opened for City Manager's car. Car Georgetown Auto Sales 3,450.00 (45 day delivery) Compton Motors '.3,300.00 (40 day delivery) Motion by Brock and seconded by Eanes that the low bid of $3,300.00, which was the bid of Compton Motors, be accepted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Georgetown James Rehler was spokesman for Georgetown developers discussed the Developers refund program, which the city at one time had for developers, and Refund suggested that Mayor Sloan appoint a committee to make a thorough study Program of the refund program. Mayor Sloan said that he would appoint such a committee. di Q Oak Crest Jim Rehler presented a plat and dedication of Oak Crest Ranchettes V Ranchettes No. 2. V No. 2. Motion by Brock and seconded by Crawford that Oak Crest Ranchettes V .t Plat No. 2 and dedication be approved. Motion carried unanimously. East Lynn Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that East Lynn Addition be Annexation annexed into the City of Georgetown. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 237) IH 35 A resolution concerning the annexing of II1 35, South of existing Annexation City limits for one mile, was presented to the Council by City Attorney McMaster. Motion by Brock and seconded by Wininger that above resolution for annexation be adopted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 239 - 240) The reason for the extension of existing City limits being that of a petition for annexation from Mr. Frank Faris of the State Highway Department. Burnham Motion by Eanes and seconded by Crawford that a zoning change for Addition lots 19 &20 of the Burnham Addition be changed from I to C2A, on Zoning Change recommendation of the Zoning and Planning Committee. Mr. A. E. Massingale Jr. was present and objected to the zoning change. . Motion carried by a unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 241) Vacating An ordinance vacating Rameriz property by the City of Georgetown Rameriz to the Georgetown Housing Authority was presented to the Council. Property Motion by Crawford and seconded by Brock that the above ordinance Ordinance be passed. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 238) Industrial An Industrial Waste Ordinance was presented to the Council by Man - Waste ager Wood. Wood stated that passage of this ordinance was necessary for Ordinance completion of a grant from the Water Quality Board. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Crawford that the above ordinance be passed. Motion carried unanimously. (See Ordinance Book No. 2 - Page 232 - 236) Public Mayor Sloan stated that there would be a Public Hearing April 5th, Hearing 1971, 7:30 P.M., on the annexation of the one mile of Iii 35 South.
