HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 11.23.1970 CC-R1,54 KOVE11B Ii 23, 1970 The City Council met in called session on the above date with Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present William Ennes, Hubert Brock, Joe Crawford, J. D. Wininger, Harry Gold, City Manager-beo Wood, Asst. City Manager Claud Eads, and laity Attorney Joe McMaster. Others present were James Rehler, Wallace Evans, Jon Scarbrough, Roger Erickson, Bill Buchanan, Rodney Montgomery, Vaughn Sanders, and Roy Sloan and Tom Leffler representing Youth Government of Georgetown High School. Police Station Bids on the Police Station were opened. Bids Bids as follows: 1. Gore Construction Co. $39,397.00 608 E. 49th Street, Austin, Texas 2. B. L. Mince Construction Co. 11803 Indianhead, Austin, Texas $400904.00 3. E. A. Bonnett Route 4, Box 289, Austin, Texas w36,998-.00 4. Phillips & Moore P. 0. Box 56, Georgetown, Texas $381512.44 Urban Renewal Mr. Rodney Montgomery from Urban Renewal was present and presented three resolutions for sale of land in the Urban Renewal project. Motion by Wininger and seconded by Gold that the above resolutions be adopted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. (See Ordinance Book #2 - Page 214 - 215) Oak Crest James Rehler, Wallace Evans, and Joe McMaster presented to the Sub -division Council Oak Crest Sub -division Pints and Dedications for recording. Motion by Gold and seconded by Lanes that Oak Crest Sub -division Plats and Dedication be accepted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Public Clearing (lotion by Wininger and seeonded by Lanes that a public hearing be Un Annexiation set for konday, December 7, 1970, at 7:30 P.M., concerning proposed annexiation for a 67 acre area South of exisiting City Limits. Lill - Sewer be paid $1,530.00 which represents 155 of of $120,000.00 for prelim - Construction inary engineering fees on the Sewer Construction Project. !lotion carried by unanimous vote. 1922 Paving Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that 1922 paving leins on Leins certain properties within the City be released. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Swope Furniture Motion by Brock and seconded by Lanes that Swope Furniture Loading Zone Company be granted a loading 'Lone at 813 Main Street on recommendation by Cheif Shearin. Motion carried by unanimous vote. DAy Care Center Manager Wood gave the Council a report on the Day Care Center pro- ject from his recent trip to 11.U.D., in San Antonio.
