CALLED MEETING
September 23, 1969
The City Council met in a called session on the above date
..with Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and
officials were present, Wm. K. Lanes, Harry Gold, liubert Brock,
Doyle Lyda, A. F. Davis, Claud lads -Secretary, Leo Wood -City
Manager, Don Scarbroughsilm. Co.Sun Publishing Co., Ed Neff with
K.G.T.N., Virgil Carlson with Urban Renewal, and Raliegh Elliot.
Urban Mr. Virgil Carlson who is Director of Urban Renewal requested
Renewal the council to adopt the following resolution.as follows
Page 162 Ordinance Book. '.Notion by Brock and seconded by Eanes
that above Resolution be adopted. Votes as follows, "Ayes",
Eanes, Gold, Lyda, Davis and Brock. "Noes", None.
Day Care Mr. Raliegh Elliott, acting as spokesman and a group of 52
Center interested citizens were present. They presented to the council
tenetive plans and costs for a new Day Care Center which they
all were supporting. After discussion Mayor Sloan and council
suggested that they make application through H.U.D. for finicial
assistance and present to the council pleminary plans at a later
date.
Utility City Manager Leo Wood read a letter from George Nelson in
Adjustment which Mr. Nelson requested an adjustment on Day Care Center's
bill. Council declined to adjust Day Care Center's bill.
The council also discussed the possibility of a bond program
for future improvements for the city. No definite action was
taken.
There being no further business on a motion by Brock and
seconded by Davis the meeting was adjourned.
