HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.10.1967 CC-R24 The City Council met on the above date, Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following coungilmen and officials were present: . Willinm It. Eanes, Ilarry L. Gold, Hubert 11. Brock, Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans, City Manager Charles D. E•yeington, City Secretary Claud Ladso City Attorney Joe B. McMaster. Also present were: 11. IV. Curingrton with llryant-Curington Engineers of Austin, Sanders Letbetter and Edwin Thomas with Southwestern Telephone Company, Drew Ballard with K.G.T.N., Mrs. W. 11. Raker with Williamson County Sun and •James A. Rehler. Minutes of council meeting held June 12, were approved as presented. Motion by Eanes and seconded by Gold that General Fund bills in the amount of 6 1,951.90 and Utility Fund bills in amount of $.21,331.66 be approved. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Fire Motion by Councilman Eanes, seconded by Councilman Brock that the Prevention Fire Prevention Code passed by the City Council June 20, 1966 be amended Code as follows: Section 7 PENALTIFS shall include a fine of not less than $10.00 nor more than VW.00 or by imprisonment for not less than 2 days nor more than 30 days or both such fine and imprisonment. All votes ayes. Recreation Recreation donations were discussed, no action was taken. Square City Manager C. D. Tenative plans U.T. were made for a display of the seven studies at Southwestern University early in September - dates tp be settled later - also a formal presenta- tion to the public with the students participating at the same time. It. was pointed out that many interesting approaches were made on handling the square restoration. Water Council discussed at length the possibility of drilling another water Yell well. Mr. Curington was instructed to look into the matter and secure information as to the best location and report back to the council at a later ditte.
