March 13, 1967
The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor Jay C.
Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials were present:
Hubert H. Brock, Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans, A. W. lloyt, Jr., William
lt. Eanes, City Manager Charles D. Eyeington, City Secretary Claud Eads
and City Attorney Joe B. McMaster.
Others present were: Drew Ballard with K.G.T.N. Radio Station,
Mr. Smith & Mr. Bryant with the Lone Star Gas Company, Harry Gold,
James A. Rehler, Fire Chief Jesse Lozano, George Gregg and Airs. Baker
with Williamson County Sun.
Fire Dept. Georgetown Fire Chief Jesse Lozano gave a report on the County
Fire Fighting System stating that the organizing of a fire dept. in
Liberty Hill would take 62,000 acres of land out of the area now
served by Georgetown. Liberty lull Fire Dept. will receive about
$600.00 annually from the County for this service.
:Minutes of last meeting were approved as presented. :Motion by
Evans and seconded by Brock that General Fund bills in the amount
of $1,648.98 be paid. Motion carried.
Motion by IEoyt and seconded by Eanes that Utility bills in the
amount of $18,853.48 be paid. Motion carried.
Police Car Mayor appointed City Manager Eyeington, Doyle Lyda and Police
Chief Frank Masur, Jr. to get bids and specifications on police car
and report back to the council.
Lone Star Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Brock that Lone Star Gas Company
Gas Co. ordinance be passed to its second reading and read by caption. Cap-
tion was read.

Votes as follows: Ayes: Evans, Eanes, Hoyt, Ilrock and Lyda.
Noes: None. See Ordinance Book II, Page 63-64.
Electrical Mayor appointed the following to serve on Electrical Advisory
Advisory Board: Tom Roland
Board Floyd Lackey
Claudie Mayo
Elmer Frederickson as chairman.
(lousing Mayor Sloan appointed the following (3) persons to serve as
Authority Commissioners of the (lousing Authority of the City of Georgetown,
Commissioners Texas, and to serve the following two year terms:
Don Scarbrough March 15, I967 to March 14, 1969
Robert L. Lancaster March 15, 1967 to March 14, 1969
William S. Lott March 15, 1967 to March 14, 1961)
Appointments were approved by council.
I.U.O.F. :Mayor stated that the I.O.O.F. Lodge had proposed to transfer
the following property to the City:
Lone Star Gas Co. I3uilding
W.O.W. Building
Davis Building
and the City was to provide meeting place for I.O.O.F. Lodge and to
assume perpetual care of I.O.O.F. Cemetery. The City was also to
receive cemetery fund set aside for care of the cemetery. All of the
above agreement to be approved by Grand Lodge.
Motion by Evans and seconded by Brock to accept proposal by
Lodge and to construct Lodge hall in N.Y.A. Building or build lodge
hall 30" x 50" all subject to the approval of City Attorney. Motion
carried.
Drainage Drainage on (fart Street was discussed and the council decided to
llart St. get bids on the project. Bids were to be opened on April 10th, 1967.
H.L. Taylor 11. L. Taylor requested that Council grant him permission to have
(Trailer) a trailer house on his property in North town, trailer house to be
used as his home. Council referred the request to the Zoning board.
Rodeo !lotion by IIoyt and seconded by Brock that all buildings or stalls
Buildings at Rodeo grounds to be built to comply with City regulations. Motion
carried.
There being no further business on motion by Brock and seconded
by Eanes meeting adjourned.

Sanders stated the increase in taxes collected and the need for up-
dating the files in order to be able to keep abreast with the sale of
property.

James A. ltehler discussed at length absence of a sponsor for the

Supplemental Rent 221 D-3 project to take care of the displaced persons
resulting from the urban renewal program.
