HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 01.16.1967 CC-RJanuary 16, 1967 A called meeting of the City Council in conjunction with the Local Urban Renewal Agency was held on the above date at the County Courthouse in Georgetown, Texas. City officials present were: Mayor Sloan, City Manager Charles D. Eyeington, Assistant City Manager Claud Eads and Councilmen: Evans, Eanes, Hoyt, Lyda and Brock. Urban Renewal offi.cials present were: Director Jim hector, Relocation Director Fran Cardwell, U.R. Agency Attorney Bill Stump, Chairman Jim Kehler and Commissioners: Evans, Luksa, Montgomery and Gold. Also present were Representatives from Bryant-Curington Inc., Chrystal City Urban Renewal Director Sam Anderson, Assistant Urban Renewal Director Daniel Poturalski of Hearne and about 200 other interested citizens the majority being from the project area. Urban Mayor Sloan called the meeting to order and presented the Urban Renewal Renewal Plan for the South San Gabriel Project. Public Hearing Mayor Sloan introduced Certificate of the City Secretary concerning Publication of Notice of Public Hearing for the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Project Tex h-102 and requested that it be made a part of the per- manent record of this hearing. The Local Urban Renewal Plan and Relocation Plan was discussed and considered. A question and answer period ivas conducted. Each commissioner and Mr. Sam Anderson made comments during this discussion'period. All persons or persons representing -any ot•ganizations desiring to be heard were afforded an opportunity to be heard. Mayor adjourned meeting for a ten minute recess. Meeting was reconvened for council action. Attorney Bill Stump read the following resolution: A RESOLUTION, OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS. APPROVING TILE URBAN RENEI AL PLAN • ' AND THE FIASIBILITY.OF IiE;LOCATION FOR PROJECT NO.. TEX 8-102 . (lotion by Eanes,. seconded by Evans that resolution be adopted. Votes as follows: Ayes: Evans, Eanes, Brock, Lyda and Hoyt. Mayor declared resolution passed. See Ordinance Book II Page 44 and 48. Attorney Bill Stump read the following cooperation agreement: CUOPERATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE; CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS AND THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF GEOUGLTOWN, Th7LAS, WITH ASPECT 90 THE SOUTH SAN GABRIEL URBAN RE:NEIVAL PROJECT NU. TEX R-102. Motion by Eanes and seconded by Evans that City, enter into coopera- tion agreement with Urban Renewal Agency. Votes as follows: Ayes: Brock, T Lyda, Eaans, Evans and Hoyt. Noes: None. Mayor declared motion adopted. Notice Notice of Election was presented by Mayor as follows: City NOTICE OF ELECTION Election NOTICE IS Hl';LEBY given that an election will be held in the City of Georgetown, Texas on the first Tuesday of April, 1967, and the same being April 4, 1967, for the purpose of electing (3) City Councilmen full term Filing deadline for the above offices arch 4, 1967.
