August 15, 1966
The City Council met on the above date in called session, Mayor
Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following councilmen and officials were
present: Wm. R. Eanes, A. W. Hoyt, Jr., Edward Lee Evans, Doyle Lyda
City Manager Charles Eyeington, City Secretary Claud Eads, City
Attorney Joe.B. McMaster and City Auditor Joe McCook, Jr. Also present
were County Health Doctor Bryson, James A. Rehler and Carl Doering.
Country Mayor -read petition for annexation of Country Club Acres Unit 2.
Club Acres ANNEXATION OR CITY LIMITS EXTENSION PETITION
TO THE MAYOR AND GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS.
The undersigned owners of the hereinafter described tract of land,
which is vacant and without residents, or on which less than three (3)
qualified voters reside, hereby petition your Honorable Body to extend
the present city limits so as to include as a part of the City of
Georgetown, Texas, the following described territory, to -wit:
BEING 4 acres of the N. Porter Survey, Abst. #497, in Williamson
County, Texas, part of a tract described in a deed to J. T. Parker,
of record in Vol. 341, Page 75, Deed Records of Williamson County,
Texas.
BEGINNING at theoNW corner of Lot 1, Block 1W, Country Club Acres
Addition to Georgetown, Texas, in the West line of the present
City Limits of Georgetown, Texas, N 4* 11' E 126.5 feet from a
S W corner of said City Limits.
THENCE in a S W direction with the South line of Country Club Road,
with a 205 feet radius curve, a distance of 82.8 feet to the end of
the curve.
THENCE S 60* 16' W 86 feet with the Country Club Road.
THENCE N 34* 19' W 521.1 feet.
THENCE N 62* 51' E 313.5 feet.
THENCE S 86* 03' E 199 feet to a point in the West line of the
City Limits of Georgetown, Texas.
THENCE S 4* 11' W 505 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
We certify that the above described tract of land is contiguous
and ad'acent to the City of Georgetown, Texas, is not more than one-
half (j) mile in width, and that this petition is signed and duly
acknowledged by each and every person or corporation having an interest
in said land.

Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Brock that petition be approved and
accepted. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes, Hoyt, Brock, and Lyda.
Councilman Evans was late attending meeting and did not vote. Noes: None.
ANNEXATION ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON
COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS
OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER
DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND
GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL INHABITANTS,
PRESENT AND FUTURE, OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE
RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF ALL OTHER CITIZENS AND
BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL THE ACTS AND ORr
DINANCES OF SAID CITY AND CONTAINING EMERGENCY CLAUSE:
Motion by Brock and seconded by Hoyt that dedication be accepted
and ordinance be passed. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes, Hoyt, Brock,
Lyda. Councilman Evans was late attending and did not vote. Noes:
None.
Portion of Budget was discussed.
Closing REQUEST FOR STREET CLOSING
W. 16th We, Carl J. Doering et uz Dolores I,. Doering, being abutting
property owners to 16th Street in Georgetown, Williamson County,.
Texas, do hereby petition the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
Texas, and do hereby make application for and request that a portion of
said 16th Street be closed, abandoned, and vacated, said portion being
as follows, to wit:

"Being all of 16th Street lying and being situated in Hart
Addition to City of Georgetown and being that portion of said
Street that lies East of the Railroad Right of way and West
of Hart Street."
Wherefore, the undersigned petitioners do hereby respectfully
request that said City Council of the City of Georgetown CLOSE, ABANDON,
AND VACATE ALL OF SAID PORTION OF 16th STREET in said Hart Addition
to said City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas.

Abandon AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING OF THAT
W. 18th. PORTION OF 16Th STREET LYING EAST OF RAILROAD RIGHT OF WAY AND
WEST OF HART STREET, HART ADDITION, CITY OF GEORGETOWN, PURSUANT
TO REQUEST OF ALL ABUTTING LANDOWNERS: AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Motion by Brock and seconded by Hoyt that above ordinance be
passed. Votes as follows: Ates: Brock, Hoyt, Eanes, Evans and Lyda.
Noes: None. See Ordinance Book Page No. 29 .
Land Sale AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF LOTS 1 THROUGH 6,
Housing BLOCK 2, AND LOTS 15 THROUGH 20, BLOCK l,HART ADDITION,
Authority. CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TO HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, FOR THE SUM OF $5,500.00 AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR OR MAYOR PRA -TEM TO EXECUTE AND DELIVER A PROPER
DEED THEREFOR.
Motion by Evans and seconded by Brock that above ordinance be
passed. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes, Hoyt, Lyda, Evans, and
Brock. Noes: None. See Ordinance Book II Page 29 .
Mayor was authorized to execute deed for the above property.
Carl Mayor was authorized to deliver check to Carl J. Doering in return
Doering for Closing of 16th Street as per petition, and also deed executed
by Carl Doering and wife Dolores L. Doering for 10 feet of property
adjoining,lift.station.on 15th.street and to that portion of 16th
Street as described in field notes of deed.
Mr. Doering executed easement for existing utilities located on
property described in easement.
City also agreed to following letter:
Dear Mr. Doering:
The problem of covering the drainage ditch on your property in
Hart Addition was discussed at the last Council meeting. It is the
unanimous decision of the Council that this drainage ditch will be com-
pletely covered to ground level as soon as practical in view of tine
and money. Permission was also granted for you to erect buildings
on top of the storm sewer or drainage ditch.
The City will put in a gravel road for you off of 15th Street
near the lift station to your property across the ditch.
The City will move the power pole when you are ready.
Attached is the $850.00 check from the City payable to you.

Council discussed in detail and at length the settlement with
Carl Doering and it was fully understood that Carl Doering did not
have further claim and that all claims were settled in full. All of the
aspects of the claims were agreed on by the council and fully un-
derstood by the council and fully agreed that there were to be no fu-
ture claims held aeainst the city or council.
Mayor stated that there would be a meeting of the council on
August 22, 1966.
M -K -T Motion by Evans seconded by Brock authorizing Mayor to execute
Agreement Pipe Line License Agreement between M -K -T and City of Georgetown to
construct 8" water line across Railroad Company premises at 19th St.
at Georgetown in Williamson County, Texas. Motion carried by unani-
mous vote. Mayor declared motion passed.
There being no further business, on)otion by Evans
Brock, council adjourned.
