HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 08.08.1966 CC-R475 August 8, 1966 The City Council met on the above date in regular session, Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present: William R. Eanes, A. W. Hoyt, Jr., Hubert H. Brock, Doyle Lyda, Edward Lee Evans, City Manager Charley D. Eyeington, City Secretary Claud Eads and City Attorney Joe B. McMaster. Also present were: W. W. Laubach, Mr. & Mrs. Jim Janetsky, Drew Ballard with K.G.T.N., James Rehler, Harry Gold, John Cardwell with Williamson County Sun Publishing Company, John B. Goehenaur division maintenance supervisor and John Rhodes, Jr., Central office foreman both with the General Telephone Company office in Bryan, Texas. Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Eanes that Minutes of meetings held July 11 and July 19, 1966 be approved as presented. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Motion by Evans and seconded by Lyda that General Fund bills in the amount of $2211.28 and Utility bills in the amount of $22,430.15 be paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Manager's report was reviewed. Airport Mr. Janetsky discussed the leasing of the airport with the Janetsky council. Mayor stated that the council would lease airport to him at $100.00 per month as per furnishing two residences, ad- ministration building, old hangar known as shop and T hangars anti Mr. Janetsky pay electric bills on two residences and old hangar (Shop Building). Mr. Janetsky agreed to let Manager Eyeington know by August 15, 1966 if he would accept above proposition. Laubach Motion by Evans and seconded by Brock that when Public H.A. Housing Authority deeds City property of W. W. Laubach street Dump Gr. project that City would execute deed for Old Dump ground property to Laubach. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes, Hoyt, Brock, Lyda and Evans. Noes: None. Telephone Mayor stated that he had had complaints about excessive Directory charges by General Telephone Company for yellow page adds and bold Charges type names on white pages of Telephone directory. Carl Motion by Brock and seconded by Eanes that Doering Council authorize Evans to offer Carl Doering not in excess of Easement $1,250.00 in return for Sewer easement and at least 10 feet of land around lift station on end of 15th Street also easement for lift station location, authority to close 16th Street. City to build street and culvert for Mr. Doering to have access to property from 15th Street. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Country Part of Country Club Acres, Annexation No. 2 was filed Club with the council. Acres Shell Council instructed Joe B. McMaster, City Attorney to write Estate letter to J. M. Shell Estate and authorized him to offer Shell's Lift Sta. $400.00 for Sewer easepent pn river bluff, Parker addition Easement and $100.00 for sufficient land for lift station on river bluff. Offer to be valid for 10 days. Motion carried by unanimous voAQ. Tax Motion by Evans and seconded by Eanes that tax rate be Rate 650 per $100.00 valuation. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes, Hoyt, Brock, Lyda and Evans. Noes: None. Sanitary City Manager read letter from State inspectors reporting Land . on Sanitary Land fill which was satisfactory. Fill M K T Be it hereby Resolved that agreement between Missouri - Electric Kansas -Texas Railroad Company and attached as Exhibit "a" hereto Easement and made a part hereof, for authorization of construction of Electric Power Transmission Line Across and Along Railroad 476 m Company Property be and it is hereby approved and accepted, and that Jay C. Sloan as Mayor and Claud Eads as City Secretary of this governing body; be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute said agreement and to do all things necessary therefor, and that -their acts in so doing are hereby adopted, ratified and confirmed as the acts of said City of Georgetown and of this governing body.
