HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 06.20.1966 CC-R469 June 20, 1966 The City Council met on the above date, Mayor Jay C. Sloan presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present, Edward Lee Evans, A. 'T. Hoyt, Jr., IIubert Brock, William R. Eanes, Doyle Lyda, Charles D. Eyeington City Manager, City Secretary Claud Eads, City Attorney Joe 13. N101aster. Also present were: Carl Doering, `Vin. Shell, Less fludson and II. 1V. Currington with Bryant- Currington, Drew Ballard, George Gregg, Harry Gold and James A. Rehler. :Minutes of last meetings,held May 9th and May 23rd were approved as presented. W.R. William R. Eanes was sworn in as Councilman by Eanes Mayor Jay C. Sloan to fill unexpired tern of Jay C. Sloan. Motion by Evans and seconded by Brock that City Manager's report be accepted and GeneraJ<Pund bills and Utility Fund bills for the month of May be paid. Motion carried by unanimous vote. lotion by Evans and seconded by Brock that National Building Code Ordinance be read by Caption -only. Ordinance was react by caption. National AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR FIRE LIMITS, AND REGU- Building LATIONS GOVER`'ING TUE CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, Code REMOVAL, DEMOLITION, EQUIPMENT, USE AND OCCUPANCY, LOCATION AND MAINTENANCE OF 13UILDINGS AND STRUCTURES. :Motion by Lyda and seconded by Hoyt that ordinance be passed to its 3rd and final reading. Votes as follows: Ayes: Evans, Eanes, Brock, Iloyt and Lyda. Noes: None. Mayor declared ordinance passed. See Ordinance Book Page 15 - 18. Motion by Brock and seconded by Lyda that Fire prevention Ordinance be read by Caption. Ordinance was read by caption. FIRE - AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A FIRE PREVENTION CODE Prevention PRESCRIBING REGULATIONS GOVERNING CONDITIONS Code HAZARDOUS TO LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM FIRE OR EXPLO- SION. Motion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that ordinance be passed to its 3rd and final reading. Votes as follows: Evans, Panes, Hoyt, Brock and Lyda. Noes: None. Mayor declared ordinance passed. See Ordinance Book II Page 13 & 14, Motion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that Telephone Ordinance be passed to its second reading and read by caption only. Ordinance was read by Caption. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes', Evans, Hoyt, Lyda and Brock. Noes: None. TElephone AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE ORDAINED JULY 89 1963 Ordinance ESTA13LISI1ING A SCHEDULE OF RATES AND CHARGES iS'IniIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF `111E CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS FOIL LOCAL EXCHANGE TELEPHONE SERVICE. Library Mayor read letter from Friends of Library. Evans suggested that Friends of the Library present bud- get to the Council showing actual expense and contributions. Carl Council discussed the closing of 16th street and location Doering of lift station on 16th street. Council instructed City Mana- ager and City Attorney to meet with Air. Doering and discuss the above and report back to council. Bryant-Curington W/S projects were presented to council as set forth in bond election proposals. Motion by Evans and seconded by Eanes that Mayor and City Manager be authorized to sign proposal. Votes as follows: Ayes:, Eanes, Evans, Hoyt, Lydh and Brock. Noes: None. Bids for the construction or above projects will'be opened July 19, 1966. $tatement from Bryant-Curington in amount of $4,445.33 was presented. Recreation Motion by Evans and seconded by Lyda that an additional Program $100.00 be given to Recreational Program making total donation from the city $600.00. Aiotion carried. Swimming Sam Brady explained in detail Public Liability insurance Pool for the City of Georgetown after a lengthy discussion the council suggested that City Manager Eyeington meet with Milton Denham ,and Myron Dees to discuss swimming pool operation'in reference to City and school's position ,& liability. KBC TV Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Brock that CATV Pole lease agreement be approved. Motion Carried. See Contract file. I.O.O.F.'* Mayor discussed proposal from I.O.O.F. Lodge as pertain- ing to property to be given to City by I.O.O.F. lodge and Cemetery. Royal Oaks Motion by Lyda and seconded by Brock that Royal Oaks Sexton Add. plat be approved. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes, Evans, Hoyt, Lyda and Brock. Noes: None. 'Torkable RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF Program GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, TO SUBMIT THE RECERTIFICATION DOCU1i:NT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT. Aiotion by Evans and seconded by Brock that above reso- lution be adopted. Votes as follows: Ayes: Eanes, Evans, Hoyt, Brock and Lyda. Noes: None. Quit Claim Motion by Brock and seconded by Lyda that Quit Claim Deed Deed from Pedro Ramirez and wife A. Rameriz be accepted. Rameriz Votes as follows: Eanes, Evans, Hoyt, Brock and Lyda. Noes: None. Housing Motion by Eanes and seconded by Hoyt that Mayor be Authority authorized to execute 150 days extension option to Georgetown Public Housing Authority on Old Cotton Yard property. Motion carried 04 Laubach Sale of .438 acres (Old Dump Ground Lana) to Laubach Property was reviewed and also previous negociations were discussed as pertained to sale of above mentioned property.
