HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 04.11.1966 CC-R461 April 11, 1966 The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor Jay C. Sloan pre- siding. The following councilmen and officials were present: Fdward Lee Evans, A. W. Hoyt, Jr., Doyle Lyda, City Secretary Claud Eads and City Attorney Joe B. McMaster. Others present were: Drew Ballard with K.G.T.N. and J. W. Garrett. AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN An amendment to the Ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on September 21, 1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment a part of the map of the original ordinance;'to'ehange the hereinafter d"cribed real estate in said city from "R.-1 one family dwelling dis- trict to "M-1 Industrial and Manufacturing district, as hereinafter set forth. Being 3.08 acres of the C. Stubblefield Survey, Abet. #558, in Williamson County, Texas, part of Outlot 5, ad part of Outlot 6,j Division "A:, City of Georgetown, Texas, also being all of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 26, 27, and 28, and part of lots 25, 29, 30, 36 and 5, all of a play part, and a portion of Lee & Moseby Drives in the Burnham Addition to Georgetown, Texas. (J. W. Garrett) Notion by Hoyt and seconded by Lyda that above resolution be adopted. Motion carried by unanimous vote. See Ordinance Book Page 490-491.. Minutes of the council- meeting held on April T, 1966 were approved as read. AME?GNENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN To change the hereinafter described property located in Block 3 of the Snyder Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texasiifrom "R-1," one -Family Dwelling District to "H-2," Duplex and Apartment District, as hereinafter set forth. Motion by Evans and seconded by Hoyt that above resolution be adopted with the follow- ing exception that City Manager Eyeington review the building plans and see that they comply with the building code. Motion carried by unanimous vote. See Ordinance Book Page 491-492, Petition No. 4 Annexing Interregional # 35. Notion by Lyda and seconded by Hoyt that above petition be adopted stating that the City Limits of Georgetown be extended 250 feet north on Interregional Highway 35. Votes as follows: Ayes: Lyda, Hoyt, and Evans. Noes: None, See Ordinance Book Page 492-493. AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING MINIMUM HEALTH AND HOUSING STANDARDS: PROVIDING FOR AN ENFORCING OFFICIAL: CRF,ATING A BOARD OF HOUSING APPEALS: PROVIDING FOR .THE INSPECTION DWELLING AND PREMISES: AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS Notion by Evans and seconded by Lyda that Southern Standard Housing Code be adopted effective date as of April 15, 1966. Motion carried by unanimous vote. See Or- dinance Book Page 493-494. Mayor appointed Angus Wyatt as Building Official and also responsible for enforcing the ordinance. PETITION: We, the undersigned, would like to call to your attention the drainage ditch which begins at Eubank and 18th Street and runs in a southerly direction paralled to Paige Street, toward the MM Railroad. The ditch is not properly drained and has stagnant water in it most of the time, which causes a strong, offensive odor and provides a breeding place for mosquitoes. We feel that this is a health hazard to our child- ren and we respectfully urge the City Council to look into the matter. We shall appreciate anything you can do to correct the situation. Sullivan to look into the petitioners request and report their suggestions back to the Council at a later date. Mr. Eyeington was instructed to write reply to Mr. August H.
