The following Councilmen and officials were present: Jay C. Sloan, A. W. Hoyt, Jr., Edward Lee Evaans, Doyle Lyda, Hubert H. Brock, City Manager Charles D. Eyeington, City Secretary Claud Eads, Frank Masur, Jr. Chief of Police, Curtis B. Adrian Financial Advisor, Les Hudson and H. W. Curington with Bryant and Curington Engineers Consultants, Don Scarbrough with Williamson County Sun, John Cardwell with Williamson County Sun, Drew Ballard with K.G.T.N., James A. Kehler, Nathan Kaiser with Bryant - Curington Engineers. The City Manager read the following captioned Resolution to the Council: "RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD ON FEBRUARY 5, 1966, ON THE PROPOSITION OF DETERMINING WHE 11ER THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN SHOULD ADOPT A RESOLUTION MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS, DETERMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS UNDER AND PURSUANT TO TIIE URBAN RENEWAL LAW OF TEXAS." The City Manager brought out in the Resolution that there were 283 votes cast in said election, resulting in 175 votes for the proposition and 108 votes against the proposition. It was moved by Councilman Evans and seconded by Councilman Hoyt that the foregoing captioned Resolution be adopted as read. The motion carried the following vote: AYES: Councilman Sloan, Hoyt, Evans, Lyda and Brock NAYES: None Thereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. The City Manager then read the following captioned Resolution: "RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS, DEfER111NATIONS, AND ELECTIONS UNDER AND PURSUANT TO THE URBAN RENEWAL LAW OF TEXAS." It was moved by Councilman Brock and seconded by Councilman Sloan that the foregoing captioned Resolution be adopted as read. The motion carried the following vote: AYES: Councilmen Sloan, Hoyt, Evans, Lyda and Brock NAYES: None Thereupon the Resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.! Motion by Brock and second by Lyda that Financial Advisory -Contract with First Southwest Company of Dallas, Texas as submitted by Mr.•Curtis B. Adrian, be accepted. (See Contract File) Motion carried by unanimous vote. .,Mr. Adrian discussed the presentation of Bond Election to be held on February 26, 1966 with the council. Mayor R. S. Elliott appointed Drew Ballard and John Cardwell to serve on Citizens bond committee. Mayor read monthly progress report on public library for the month of January 1966. Written report was submitted by Mrs. Jo Sloan. See Library File. There being no further business, on motion by Lyda and second by Sloan the meeting adjourned. -- 454 It. S.
