HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 01.24.1966 CC-S451 Georgetown, Texas' January 24, 1966 The City Council met on the above date in called session Mayor•R. S. .Elliott presiding. The following Councilmen and officials were present: Hubert H. Brock, A. W. Hoyt, Jr., Jay C. Sloan, Edward Lee Evans, Charles D. Eyeington, City Manager, Claud Eads, City Secretary, Frank Masur, Jr., Chief of Police, Joe B. McMaster, City Attorney, C. A. Forbes, J. B. Jackson with Bumble Oil & Refining Co., John Cardwell with Williamson County Sun Publish- ing Co.,. Lester Hudson with Bryant-Curington, Engineer Curtis B. Adrian with First Southwest Company Investment Bankers of Austin and James Rehler. Motion by Evans and seconded by Brock that City accept I.O.O.F. Lodge and I.O.O.F. Cemetery proposal to deed their property to City of Georgetown. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Mr. Adrain discussed at length with the council the issuance of Warrants in amount of $400,000.00 and $450,000.00. Motion by Hoyt and seconded by Brock that an election be held for the pur- pose of issuing $400,000.00 Revenue Bonds for construction of electrical loop and water and sewer extensions and improvement. Election date to be set at later date. Mr. Adrain is to prepare proper papers for election and issuance of bonds if passed. Motion carried by unanimous vote. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ZONING FOIL TRAFFIC, AND RATE OF SPEED THEREIN, R.M. 2338,AND DECLAILING RATE OF SPEED ON OTHER STREETS; DEFINING SPEEDING AND FIXING A PENALTY THEREFOR; DECLARING WHAT MAY BE A SUFFICIENT COMPLAINT IN PROSECUTIONS HERE- UNDER; WITH A SAVING CLAUSE AND A CLAUSE REPEALING CONFLICTING LAWS AND DECLARING AN EME11GEVCY. Motion by Btohk and seconded by Iloyt that above ordinance be passed. Motion carried by unanimous vote. Mayor declared Ordinance passed. See Ordinance Book page 480. Motion b.* Sloan and seconded by Brock tbkt Curtis B. Adrian be employed by City to act as Financial Advisor in issuance of $400,000.00 Revenue Bonds. Motion carried by unanimous vote. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ESTABLISIIIN&A TRAFFIC IIEGISTEII CONTAINING RECORD OF ALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES PROVIDING FOIL TIIE MAINTENANCE OF SAID REGISTER BY CURRENT ENTRIES BY TIIE CITY POLICE: Motion by Evans and seconded by Brock that above ordinance be passed. Motion carried by unanimous vote and mayor declared ordinance passed. See Ordinance Book 478 and 479. Mr. J. B. Jackson with Humble Oil & Refining Co. and Mr. Forbes, local I .-Bumble Agent requested a building permit to construct Service Station on highway #35 and north of Williams Drive and delete size of storage tanks. Council approved issuance of permit only if capacity of storage tanks in specifications reflects storage tanks to conform to the requirments of existing ordinance.
